  1. I really appreciate all these comments and feedback! I really do want to do something special. Even set up screens and tablets where people can watch LTT videos to also learn. @wasab, yeah that's rught! Our store will be catering to all @fpo absolutely. We partnered up with virtuocity which just opened today which will be the regions biggest gaming arena. Never thought about card games too. You think it would be relevant of the place is focused on pc? @jtalk thanks! Yes indeed. Insurance and security is covered. The good thing is though that the crime rate in Qatar is almost 0. Love the idea of a PC build class! Maybe even have @LinusTech come on down if he's up to this type of stuff. Would make a great episode of gaming in the middle east. Not only does it have a huge gaming arena but also some giant tournaments coming real soon. https://www.iloveqatar.net/news/sports/aspire-zone-to-launch-online-gaming-tournament-with-2-3-billion-players
  2. Hey there everyone. I'm in the process of opening the first ever pc part and build bar in my country (Qatar). My goal has been to Kickstart the pc gaming market here and to educate the market too. I'll set up a build bar area where people can grab parts, head on back and then assemble their pcs. The tools and area is a free access area too (because sometimes you don't need to buy all the tools). So I've managed to sort out deals with some great companies like EK, Deep cool, nzxt, geil, GPd, cable mods, Zowie, zotac, Arctic, Tecware, Razer, silicon power, and others. Still trying to get brands like msi, corsair and gigabyte but it's been hard to get good prices. The question I have is, what do you think I can do in order to make sure the spot is kick ass. I do really want this to be a hang out spot for enthusiasts. I've put tablets in the build bar area so people can see tutorials. Worked with RandomFrankP to put together cool lists of items like "what you need if you're getting into streaming" etc... On the second floor I've even set up a bar area where you can talk about what you're trying to achieve. Also the tables are modular so maybe once a month have special Lan parties or tournaments. What brands do you think are must haves? What items do you think I should stock? What concerns or risks do you think I should be prepared for? If you could have your "dream" pc part store, what would you want it to be like? Attached are a couple of pics of the joint. Note: This isn't meant to be an ad, I imagine most people don't even life in Qatar and I just really want your advice.
  3. alright guys after months and three replacements, I finally found a compatible gen 3 one from a company called BESTAR. I don't know if links are allowed here but it was on Ali Express. Solved my problems.
  4. it'll just barely fit and will be a tight squeeze. They didn't make enough space at the bottom for the angled power cable, so you'll have to have your fan and rad for the gpu at the bottom, then your aio on the bottom right. Watch out though, the riser cables that come with it are crap. I've had to replace mine twice now.
  5. Can you let me know which riser you specifically got because the one installed in the bracket is wider for the screws. I'd be able to screw in one not both.
  6. The riser cable is the biggest flaw. I've had a replacement and while it helped me from getting blue screens and crashes, it still occasionally blue screens if I place the glass on, or if I bend it in a way it doesn't like. The problem is that Phanteks uses a wider than normal riser to screw into their bracket that holds onto the graphics card, this means it's not easy finding a replacement. Also, no matter what their photos show, trust me, there is NO room for an aio and an SC2 hybrid for example, unless you're prepared for some super cramping. They should have made it just an inch wider and an inch deeper.
  7. Oh really? I'm sorry if I broke any rules. I thought it would be ok because it was a guide and another thread said submit your tutorials. i understand if this needs to be deleted.
  8. Hey there everyone. So ive been working on my latest build and trying to figure out the best way to mount my graphics card vertically. After hanging out on the s340 elite club forum I decided to create this video as a helpful guide. This is should work in other cases too with 7 slots but I can't guarantee. Perhaps people could list below if they've tried and what case they used this in. Hope you like it. It's my first video like this. I would love feedback too to improve my videos
  9. Just wanted to mention I got an email from Alienware telling me their Thunderbolt connection supports Integrated Graphics only. Anyway, it's a good thing to note for any users who buy one in the future
  10. I guess it's right then that the TB3 / USB C port won't work with the X34. I'll have to get a mini DP to DP cable and try through that.
  11. It gives me a pop up that says "VIDIA Settings are not available. You are not currently using a display attached to an NVIDIA GPU" That's indeed an option. I'll just have to go buy one and try that out. Yes indeed, I'm using the one on the rear. Do you mean by going in to intels display properties and just changing 3D to maximum performance? Or is there a specific way?
  12. Just found this thread It seems to be that with the R2 at least. The alienware would not switch to the graphics card via Thunderbolt / USB C. Which, if it's the same case with the R3, means that either 1- I need to find a solution to force it to switch to the graphics card or 2- Stick to HDMI, which means that enjoying GSync and the higher refresh rates will not be possible. (and if so, I'm not sure I can call the Alienware 15 R3 a real gamers laptop)
  13. yes indeed, plugged into the power and also plugged into the monitor via USB-C port / Thunderbolt, to the display port in the monitor.
  14. Hey there guys, I'm hoping that one of you techsperts can help with an issue that I'm facing. I've got a 1070 in an Alienware 15 R3 hooked up to my Predator X34 via the USB-C/Thunderbolt to Display port. I've updated all of my drivers (and tried rolling back to the previous ones too) via GeForce Experience Tried Single monitor and Extended display Tried updating Alienware specific drivers - their driver update utility said there were no update, but a visit to http://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/19/product-support/servicetag/91VFYF2/drivers said otherwise. Basically, all I'm trying to do is ensure that I can benefit from the G-Sync on the X34. I've already managed to overclock it to 100hz. But I can't access the control panel and I'm stuck. Let me also mention that I'm able to use the monitor just fine. I can set the settings to any resolution and already set to 100hz from the display properties. Any ideas? Update in case you find this thread: The USB C/ TB port won't work. It will rely on integrated graphics. So if you've got a gaming monitor and need GSync use the Mini displayport (Gsync wont work with HDMI either).
  15. I think the z2 is a great vloggers phone. Dbrand have great precision cut skins.
