  1. 123D Design by Autodesk. Free and pretty simple to use. Most tools will suit any needs if you spend enough time dedicated to the software.
  2. Just even painting is a good mod. Never stop modding.
  3. Nice man! Have you used them your self yet?
  4. That is amazing.
  5. Nicely done. I assume you wrapped it up outside the case before putting it in?
  6. You could put mac server on the mini for $19.99 and manage the rest with them. Has some pretty cool features. You could also bootcamp it and put linux or windows on it and do some other server things with it as mentioned in other posts in this forum. I had a friend turn a 2010 mac mini into a minecraft server with linux. It wasn't too shaby. Connected to it over the internet. There are a lot of options with that mini.
  7. Nice work. Can't wait to see a finished product.
  8. Awesome. If I had room in my current living space, I would set up several servers I have received from work. Apparently the wife doesn't like the idea of loud servers in the corner of the living room. Who knew?
  9. Could open up a command prompt and initiate a clean command.
  10. I like it, man. Wow. Have you thought dark or light stained wood? Or up to the individual user. Did you mention if it was going to be steel or aluminum?
  11. Ooo. A bit of wood added into a computer build, I like. Major props. I would like to see some not quite enthusiast cases add some posh finesse instead of going completely industrial with metal.
  12. That looks amazing. Hope they are able to produce it with no problems. Reminds me of the new Mac Pro, but with more possibilities. Are 3 of the panels connected and would slide off like a sleeve? How would the panels fasten on? Click or screws? Would it be possible to make the top panel just solid instead of grilled; and heat can disperse out the opening?
  13. Do you happen to have Teamviewer installed? Is sounds like a strange question, but when I had TeamViewer installed on my desktop back in Windows 8/8.1, it would drop my audio out for Chrome at the most inconvenient times. When I didn't have it installed, it worked fine.
  14. I also work on my wife's laptop and family laptops from time to time. USB ports, AC ports, and maybe some ethernet ports wouldn't go amiss. Not an over abundance, but something accessible on top.
  15. Hit up Craigslist. That, of if you know anyone in an IT field of work with any sort of business may have racks they are trying to offload. Several companies I have worked for have been moving half of their servers to virtual and just been giving racks away. I have one waiting for me when I move to my new house.
  16. I agree on the grounds of simplicity. This isn't the 90s and desks aren't holding up CRTs, we don't have stacks of CDs and cassette tapes that need storage, and the computer can be almost an size besides a 25 gallon tank of steel. My ideal desk would be simple. It would be sturdy. (I don't like cheap desks that shake back and forth and side to side when typing on them.) I know this could mean different types of wood. Mahogany would be overkill. I also like the idea of a little storage and some cable management options. Either built in or some sort of assembly that would allow for cable management modular design. If I owned a house that my wife and I would live in for the next 30+ years, I might be able to convince her to invest into my office $500(US). I like the idea of being comfortable and knowing that the desk would last a long time; no matter what I threw at it.
  17. Very well done. Plan to do more just for fun?
  18. To my father in law, Who has provided so much to me and my wife when between jobs and states, I would want to get him this Netgear NAS with a pair of 1TB WD Reds. It may not seem like much, but this would free up space on his main drive where he saves everything and can back up all his countless CDs and home videos.
  19. SSD and I agree with this recommendation. Newegg has them "on sale" currently.
  20. I remember being told back in the day to put a pea sized dot, lower the heat sink and twist back and forth 90 degrees to spread it. Not saying its right, I just remember that.
  21. I do care about the layout of the internal. The thing I like most about the S340 is lack of 5.25" drives. I certainly don't need them anymore. Phanteks was an interesting solution. I am looking more into it right now. I do like the look of the Define S and it fits my "thing I like most". Now to see if my wife will grant me that little extra in budget to build.
  22. My old mobo and processor don't run too hot since it is used for light gaming and administering data on my home network. I am thinking about getting a cooler, maybe the nzxt since it is recommended, but that would be later on down the road.
