  1. That worked. MSI Fast Boot was enabled. It says it disables USB while booting so my keyboard didn't work.
  2. So I'm using a MSI B560I. I set it up so there is no bios splash screen. I don't remember what any of it was called but I hit the power button and it pretty much goes right to windows. Well now I need to get into the bios and I don't know how. Feeling kinda dumb here haha.
  3. So I picked up 2 Archer C20s. $16 refurbished on Amazon. They are slow but just hooked them up. At the shop I used Tether app to set it up. There is no bridged mode but it has repeater mode, I assume it's the same thing. I don't know how to get the browser to pop up so I can sign in. I tried on my ipad and also a laptop.
  4. We don't have a network admin in the store. I know they do things remotely but don't know if they monitor it. I'm gonna ask someone tomorrow about that MAC bypass. I'm guessing I'll need the devises info before hand. So when I join the free wifi and the browser pops up asking for my info, that's called "captive portal"?
  5. A decent router will reach that far?
  6. I didn't know that was a thing. All this time, I just threw it my laptop last week because I never use it.
  7. I thought that was was only wired haha. It actually makes sense now. Any recommendations on a cheap router?
  8. I asked but but basically got a hard no. Does Client/Bridge mode work wirelessly? There is no place to plug in.
  9. So I was just looking at OneMesh devices but now I'm thinking it not right for me. I'm a little confused by it all. My router is in my basement. I have wired my whole house with Cat5e, even into the attic. Long story short, I want to be able to connect as I'm coming home. I want it to be the same network throughout the house. I was hoping to put it in the hot attic and hardwired. From my attic to the road is about 100 feet so I'm guessing something that goes 200 feet would do. So I think I need an access point rather then a range extender but not sure. Less than $50 is perfect but am willing to spend more if I have to.
  10. I think it's called authentication but can remember. Where I work has free wifi for customers but we are allowed to connect. When connecting it makes you go online and put in you info. Even fake info works. Good enough for pretty much any device. I am an auto tech, my $6500 scan tool requires to be connected to internet but I cant go online to authenticate as there is no browser. I usually connect to my phone's hotspot but it's a pain. Is there anything that can connect to the buildings wifi then I can connect to to that. Like some kind of repeater maybe? I am flat rate so any time wasted screwing with hotspot and making sure it connects is time I'm not making money.
  11. Just installed. Its not the easiest thing ever but I can simply put what i want, even links right into Notes. Im happy now. Thank You!
  12. Im not sure how to even ask this. Rarely i use my Windows PC but when I do it would be nice to be able to copy text on my Apple device and paste it into windows. Also being able to be on a website then send it to my Apple device or vice versa is something I could really use. Like I said I dont even know how to ask this and dont know what to search for. My PC is my Plex server but sometimes use it if I need to type a lot like doing taxes or applications so would be nice those features just like Ipad and Iphone work so well together. If I have to I will turn this into a Hackintosh but really dont want to and dont have the time now.
  13. I could add that as far as gaming, make Steam Big Picture start when windows starts and you can easily use Xbox controller to navigate.
  14. I tried to do pretty much the same thing for about a year. It's too hard. Build a cheap office PC and put your gaming PC at your TV.
  15. I don't know why I can't seem to find what I'm looking for. Basically I have Windows 11 and want to be able to use the desktop just like an Nvidia shield. I just want a row of my favorite apps that I can scroll through. Maybe even a few different rows so I could have one for apps, one for games and maybe another for other stuff. So far the Shield is my favorite environment and if I could make it exactly like it I would. An Xbox controller and and Bluetooth remote is all I ever want to use. Tablet mode in Windows 10 was just ok but way better then regular desktop and I don't think that's a thing with windows 11 anyways. Hopefully there is a way and thanks in advance for any help
  16. Oh cool. I'll give it a shot. I have some learning ahead
  17. as far as signal integrity im guessing it could be noticeable in maybe a bluray movie but not bad for light tasks? I dont know much about this stuff
  18. Disk2vhd doesnt list the disk at all. In disk management is says "the disk is offline because it has a signature collision with another disk that is online".
  19. I have never tried to use a VM and don't even know how to start one but before I learn I had one question. I have a PC that has 2 boot drives. One with windows and one with Batocera. My question is can I run the Batocera drive inside Windows Virtual machine so I don't have to reboot PC to switch OSs? Or is there a better way maybe?
  20. really how bad can it be running about 75 feet of hdmi and usb?
  21. Yeah im going to cancel. Not worth it. Thanks
  22. I have Plex Pass. Only got it so my kid could watch movies in the car lol.
  23. Im new to plex. I was under the impression that Sync on my mobile device was kind of like downloading to view offline. I synced 3 movies and none of them play offline. They all say "unable to connect to server". Am I doing something wrong? Im guessing Sync is more like Optimize. If thats the case, can I download to my tablet through Plex? I just want to be able to load up some movies on my kids table for roadtrips.
  24. Quest complete. Walking through the door worked. Thanks!!
