I just put down a pre-order for a Tongfang PF5NU1G from Eluktronics. Thanks for all your suggestions. It has exactly what I was looking for. Just wish it was black instead of silver. Ryzen 7 4800H Vega 7 iGPU Dual Channel 16GB RAM 3200mhz 512GB NVMe SSD 1080p 100% sRGB IPS Screen Huge 91Wh Battery that is reported to last 10-12h web browsing. Replaceable Dual Channel DIMMs, NVMe SSD, Battery, and Wi-Fi $900 https://old.reddit.com/r/AMDLaptops/comments/hzlcjo/all_of_the_vendors_that_are_offering_the_tongfang/

Looks good as long as the Battery isn't glued in like the Intel L14/L15. I can't seem to find any disassembly information on the Ryzen 4000 version even though it came out in June. They were released in June. Negative Nancy. https://news.lenovo.com/pressroom/press-releases/lenovos-thinkpad-laptops-powered-by-amd-ryzen-4000-series-available-soon/

You are kind of stating the obvious. This is why I made this thread. To see if I can find some. Not sure if you saw my OP Edit but I found two that HP make. They exist, it is just that there are hundreds of laptop models and it is just extremely time-consuming looking up tear down information for each one of them. So I am trying to crowd source the effort and hopefully others can benefit.

I would like one without a dedicated GPU though. That's the problem, I am sure there are plenty with dedicated GPUs with these replaceable components. As I said this is not for gaming. This will be used for Pop!_OS (Linux), Firefox, and Rammina (Remote Desktop). My intent is something that will last as long as possible and I don't have to worry about some RAM dying in 4 years and have to track down and replace the entire motherboard. I would like better battery life instead of GPU horsepower which I'll never use. The main reason I am looking for a new laptop is because while the one I am typing on right now is perfectly fine but it is heavy and the battery life is poor because it is a gaming laptop. Even with the Nvidia GPU disabled and using the Intel GPU I only get maybe 3 hours with a brand-new battery. Screwdriver and pry tool. No heat gun or reflow station.

What did you DO?? - The "Jellyfish Fryer" All-SSD Server
ChaosBlades replied to JonoT's topic in LTT Releases
Can someone link to these "SSD optimizations" on ixsystems JIRA page? Because I am not seeing anything for 11.3 relating to SSD optimizations. -
Just to conclude this thread I got a Focusrite Scarlett Solo and an Audio Technica AT2020 XLR and everything is perfect. No more hiss at all, even at 100% mic level and 100% headphone volume I am getting zero hiss. If I bring the mic level down to 0 I hear nothing like I am not even listening to the mic input, like it should be. I am even using the same USB cable that I was with the C01U so it wasn't that.
-
UPDATE! So, I got the 1500VA version of that UPS because they didn't have the 1350VA version but I got the higher end version for the same price as the one I wanted! I can't really return it now that I got $40 off since I already wanted one anyways. Deals aside I am still getting a hiss / static sound. No change at all. I think it is just that it is a USB mic. Notice the difference in this video between the AT2020XLR and the AT2020USB. Notice how the XLR is perfect and the USB has the same hiss I am getting on my C01U.

Did a bit a research and I will go to Microcenter Tomorrow and get a CyberPower CP1350PFCLCD which has a pure sine wave. Says 1 in stock so hopefully I don't have to buy the higher output model. I wanted a UPS anyways for my FreeNAS server which this unit is compatible with so hopefully this works.

I didn't think it could be dirty power because I have a Corsair AX850 but I could totally go down to Microcenter and buy a CyberPower Systems CP1350AVRLCD to see what happens then just return it. That unit has a Simulated Sine Wave. The only power conditioners Microcenter has in stock are REALLY expensive and I don't want to buy something that heavy (return shipping cost) and have it not work due to something as simple as a defective microphone.

Does the exact same thing. No change in frequency or level. That is originally were I had it till I read that was the problem and I should plug it into a hub. Edit: Even had the cable going past all the computer power cables and power strip. Still no change in the hiss volume or frequency. Edit2: Even tried the front USB port and routing the USB cable as far away from the computer as possible. Still no change.

Current setup: Rode PSA1 + Samson SP01 + Samson C01U + Samson PS04 Budget: $100 Amazon Gift Card + hopefully no more than $100 additional (not trying to spend $200) Trying to solve: Even with the level in Windows set to 0 and the USB cable plugged into a powered USB hub I am getting a hiss. Hiss does not increase in volume until I go past 72 in Windows level. No matter what I try it does not change frequency at all, just the same constant level hiss. I have no gain and no effects are enabled. I am guessing it is just the reality of a USB condenser microphone. USB cable does not appear to be of low quality. Additional requirements: -No matter what I need a new shock mount the SP01 elastic is totally shot. Apparently you can't get replacement elastic. -All new items in black please. Didn't realize how distracting/ugly the silver Samson stuff was going to be till it was too late. Does this look good, I am no expert: Audio-Technica AT2020 ($100 Amazon.com) Behringer U-Phoria UM2 ($30 SweetWater.com) Auray SHM-SCM1 ($25 BHPhotoVideo.com) (Can purchase replacement elastic!) (According to B&H staff it fits the AT2020) Kirlin Cable MPC-270-06/BK ($8 Amazon.com) Total: $163 w/ Free Shipping

1st... This video, exactly I agree! Seen that MassDrop and was like "REALLY?!?!" 2nd... Amazon and NCIX links only show the white version. 3rd... It is still $60 - 80 for something that holds headphones. This is really something that should be in the $10 - 25 range unless you have some $600 cans and just don't care about money. 4th... I want to get a stand for my DT990 Pro 250 Ohm headphones but I am not going to pay $60 to satisfy that want. No matter how nice and solid the product is. A simple metal stand or metal vice clip that hangs off the desk for $20 and I will buy it right now.

I meant when building your computer / enthusiast hobby stuff. Not what you get paid to do because I wish. Lol
