Broadwell isn't supposed to be much faster (according to ppl on LTT) and from I researched a lil while ago is sky lake is the same (both will be big improvements on the iGPU which was why I was hyped for skylake (laptops). i5 2500k is still a solid CPU, anything before sky lake really isn't worth it assuming you don't need to use a specific feature that only the newer gen cpu's/mobo's have.

I'd recommend upgrading other parts of your system first then when you need it upgrade that CPU but at the current rate that wont be for a while .

    P.S. If your just a gamer don't go i7.

I like the head room it affords me and it means I dont get the smell of burning electronics like I used to. I mean with most cards I could have a dual GPU setup on it so I am not complaining.

I had a PSU that burnt itself out on a 6970. In my build the draw was 500w the supply was 650w. I now have a 850w supply for a GTX 660 just because of how that supply fucked me . Overkill I know.

Is I dont an option? But not true story is I hover the case fans once and month and then every year or so I strip the system down and go at the heat sinks with a paintbrush and dismantle the frames holding in my dust filters. Well if I can be bothered thats what I do anyway. Far to lazy for my own good.

In the UK the 770 can hit about £170-£200 the 970 at the very least is £250-£350. There is a benefit to purchasing a 770 over here.

Also I understand why you want to use PC world but you can get much better deals else where in the UK. For example a Asus GTX 760 on Scan UK (An Online store I use for components) is £159. Yes there is £10 to get it shipped but you save so much money. My Current 660 came from them and the delivery was speedy and the component was in amazing condition. I found when my mum helped me get my initial parts the cheaper I could get them the better chance she would buy them. Now I am 18 and I follow the exact same idea of the cheaper I can get the better the components the more likely I will buy them. Although they dont have the 770 in stop at the moment as they are instead trying to get people to buy a 970 for example. PC world cant price components well at all.

CJHGunner got a reaction from Raichuboy17 in Looking for Monitor Suggestions.
Hey guys this will be my first post looking for advice here so bear with me here. I am looking for a monitor to replace my now 7 years old Television which is barely capeable of 1080p. Not natively supporting the resolution it makes the screen very blurry and difficult to read and has over time had an ill effect on my eye sight. Got my self some lovely glasses that reduce blue light from screens which leads me into my requirements for the monitor. I am English so I will give rough conversion of my price range into Canadian and US so you can suggest models to me and I will research into them. The price range I am looking it is no more then £120, $220 (Canadian) and $195 (US). It needs to natively support 1080p and deliver a clean image that does not blur and makes text crisp clear and easy to read. Some sort of low blue light mode would be appreciated but is not needed. I am looking around the 22 inch range as its not to small or to large for my desk and it needs at least one HDMI input or if you can find the hidden gem with two in that price range that will be even better. This is because I require the HDMI port for my Playstation 3 and my PC (Although I also have space for a full sized Displayport and HDMI monitor with my Gigabyte GTX 660 3GB). Also panel type I have no preference as long as its clear to read although I am currently below eye level with my monitor so tilt or a acceptable viewing angle would be preferable. Below is an image of the current setup I am using and as you may be able to see I am in dire need of a new screen. Because its just to dam big  and the 4:3 gaming is not my thing so I cant use my second monitor either.

Excuse the photo I had to take it very awkwardly and with a shitty camera
