  1. Looks like I'll have to do some testing if that is the case and order a 2nd kit if anything goes bad.
  2. I've found the need to buy more RAM, and sadly it turns out my existing kit of Corsair Vengeance 16GB DDR4 3600Mhz CMW16GX4M2Z3600C18 is no longer available. What is available are 16GB DDR4 3600Mhz CMH16GX4M2Z3600C18 kits. So this begs my question, what are the chances there would be future issues if I bought this kit?
  3. I'm not sure if I'm reading this right, but mine has a SM2262EN controller, but the flash is a Samsung 3dv4-64L one? This was bought around early February 2021.
  4. Either the retailers bought their supply from grey market (as is the case I think is happening in the major retailers in my country), or they are just being asshats and matching prices with scalpers.
  5. I don't really know what to say anymore. It's gotten pretty depressing to attempt to even buy a GPU in my country (Philippines). That's more or less 1928 USD JUST for a TUF Gaming 3080.
  6. Hello, It is as title says. Computer does boot to the BIOS screen where you see your motherboard brand logo, and that's it. Press DEL, F2, nothing. System is a Ryzen 5 5600X, ASUS TUF Gaming X570 (BIOS is 2407, which I only learned slightly before making this post is outdated already) and 16 GB DDR4 RAM from Corsair, but I'm still using a lot of older parts from my previous build as they still work (like PSU, storage). Of note though is I didn't wipe my drives clean (yet) or do a clean reinstall of Windows (yet). Also the orange DRAM light is just lit up (but it could be the system just hanging or something). I just need help in identifying the problem because a friend on mine said that even with an BIOS not supporting, I should be still able to get into the BIOS itself. I've already dried resetting my CMOS as some posts on reddit suggest and that didn't work. Is it stuck just because it's an older BIOS?
  7. Advertising has 0 respect of time. HAHAHA
  8. There seem to be some CL19s occasionally in stock in a local store I love to go to. I just browse their online price list, but as it says its not an availability list. They do though try their best to keep things in stock. I'm not going to be surprise though if the G.Skills Trident CL19 kit gets sold out very fast often. I should probably put a reservation on some parts. https://awesome-table.com/-KrkkVbKZR_HZ2x8lsHk/view Oh also planning to upgrade in December, so I'm going to press F very hard.
  9. Generally yea. I did that 6 years ago I'm going to do that again. Thanks for the part list! Although I'm trying to avoid shipping stuff from outside the country. My country's customs have very big eyes on pricey items and there has even been a stupid memo from our anti-piracy agency stating all memory will need declaration in advance. Okay RAM isn't, but the people in customs don't know any better and will hold the item because "memory", "GB", etc. is in the item name.
  10. The chip choice was a "because I can" pick, but I was flipping between the 3700x or 3900x. For sanity reason though I do consider the 3700x my best bet, but if its not available and some how the 3900x is (because a cheaper product would sell out faster and limited stocks in local stores), then I go with that. It's also a more nice to have rather than a need considering my line of work. Thanks on the RAM thing! It's an anything under the sun thing, I'm a designer by profession, so I do a lot of things and well I like my games to be shiny again. Budget is very open. Philippines, so you can see why certain things will depend on availability (and if the more expensive one is available, then I'm going with that). On the PSU, might keep it for a bit, then probably buy a new one, or I'll buy a new whatever its current version is. I sorta dont want to waste a Plat 80 PSU yet hahaha. I might OC in the future when I get to feel like doing it, but who knows I might keep it stock forever because I'm too lazy. Thanks also on the RAM thing!
  11. So currently I'm planning to upgrade my old computer. I plan on carrying over some parts like my graphics card (GTX 1080) and PSU (Corsair AX760i) to my new rig and I have 2 questions related to that, and 2 not so.... 1. Will the graphic card bottleneck the new Ryzen 3900x (I think it shouldn't, but who knows?)? 2. Do you peeps think I need to get a new PSU? I heard from some people that PSUs can practically last forever particularly the good ones, but I need some more opinions on it. It's currently a 6 year old one. I do keep it clean to the best of my abilities and I think it hasn't had any corrosion from the humid tropical weather of my country (its in an aircoditioned room anyways). Pins and connectors haven't really changed also right? I still also have my bag of goodies with me. 3. Anyone have a good motherboard recommendations? I'm thing the ASUS TUF X570. 4. Cooler recommendations? I run an AIO but I want to switch to air for longevity sake. Noctua sounds great, but the models are currently dizzying me (along with the fans).
  12. Originally based it off an Alienware 13 because I needed a good monitor, but I sacrificed it for savings and said ASUS FX502VM or GL553. They didn't even consider those two and just said they wanted the i5, etc. they researched. Do note, the budget has been allocated already, which means I CAN get the Alienware 13. That is if IT opens its bloody eyes. I went Quadro already and they said that was too much, and as I've said kept saying all I need is an i5, 8GB of RAM and that thing. Also, tried Mac, they said I don't need that and same spec again (the i5).
  13. i7, 16GB of RAM, GTX 1050 or 1060 Originally based it off an Alienware 13 because I needed a good monitor, but I sacrificed it for savings and said ASUS FX502VM or GL553. 14. I haven't posted in a long time, but with a lot of desperation I need to ask for assistance from the LTT forum peeps. Does anyone have any hard data regarding laptop price to performance for professional graphic design usage (from Photoshop, to InDesign, to Premiere, to After Effects, etc.)? Like not just talk from forums, but hard graphs and stuff? Long story short, I requested a laptop for work (I work in a corporate environment as a Multimedia Specialist), but the ITs are insisting that the listed specs (i7, 16GB of RAM, GTX 1050 or 1060) is too much (in their words, it is a "gaming" laptop) and that all I need based of what their vendor (which I call BS because Dell has professional laptops for the needs I listed) is an i5 with 8GB of RAM and a non-specified GPU with 1GB of VRAM. So with most of my reasoning options exhausted (primarily because IT flat out said the didn't want to benchmark with my personal laptop, a MSi GE62 QD, because it isn't company issued, secondly because they insist they did their research and want hard data). I call out for help if anyone can help finding data. Most I found online just lead to forums, but what I gather is they are not interested in that "hear-say hear-say". A little factoid: I've been using my own personal laptop for work for 9 months now.
