  1. The free games are not region bound to NA only. The NA Only item applies only to the $100 voucher off of a shield which is quite possibly because they are only available in NA to start with. I know this forum loves to jump on that NVidia Hate Wagon every chance they get, but this isn't actually an issue. To clarify: Free Games: ALL ----- $100 Shield Voucher: NA Only (because you can only purchase a shield in NA).
  2. I for one did a build for a friend with an AMD card in which his only input is an HDMI and have been wondering why the audio does not go through the television he uses. Its especially annoying when we're trying to watch a movie off of his computer or play a game as a group. Well now I know. I also have a system set up where on occasion (similar uses as my friend) I'll have my computer connected to my TV, which only takes an HDMI, thankfully I have a Nvidia card for my personal rig, so everything sounds fine. Some set-up reliant on an HDMI with sound output seems to be more common than assumed on this discussion page which brings me to another point. Its amazing how biased this forum is. Nvidia makes a restrictive measure that affects almost no one; its the end of the world. AMD makes a restriction that affects almost no one (though presumably more than the number of linux users with 4+ monitors) and its perfectly acceptable. This is also coupled with the number of people instantly believing the completely unsupported and extremely bs article about Nvidia paying off Origin. Thank you afa for being brave enough to post anti-AMD content on this forum and for defending the blind hate against Nvidia on the bs SemiAccurate articles.
  3. Well good for Microsoft. I guess their wallets weren't appealed by the direction pre-order's were going. At least they have become a bit more competitive with the PS4 (though the extra $100, always Kinected and no indie support still plague it). Competition is good, sadly the Fanboy Fuel isn't, but that is the way it is. At least when a fanboy argues for an XBOX, they won't seem as silly for compromising the ability to play games for a "better" feeling controller (which versions of are made by third party companies for the PlayStation as well). Still, its a good sign when a company doesn't go deaf and I'm quite happy with the console war situation now. I feel like it will finally start to even out (from heavy XBOX to heavy PS4 to hopefully a happy medium), which is for the best. I have to admit I'm surprised, if not impressed with Microsoft as I feel many are, but I would still like advise to not get to caught in the hype and to not ignore the overall picture. Look at your options and mark what's important to you (not a comfy controller, most bs argument ever). IMO, PS4 is still ahead for me (though I won't be indulging, PC has wrapped me in its comforting grasp and I won't ever leave it), but at least its not that lopsided anymore.
  4. I didn't think you got free games with Gold? But other than that and cloud storage, you are correct, XBOX Gold does provide the other services. I stand corrected. Though the 2 free games only last until the release of XBOX One, so it's pointless after launch, though that is definitely a good thing for XBOX users until then (at which point I suggest you bail ship to PC, if not already there, or at the very least PS4 if any console at all; basically, avoid XBOX One for now, maybe it'll get better, but unlikely).
  5. I'm still not sure on the price, its $50.00 right now, but $60.00 seems logical from the info given (<$5.00 a month). Either way, its still a better deal than XBOX's thing as its either the same price or cheaper, and you get tons of free games (at least one a month and they are pretty decent titles as well), great discounts on many items, occasional beta and early access to games, and trials for most games. The only item in which XBOX Live subscription would have been better is a better online experience and support (though not $60.00 better). That was compared with the old systems though, both will have new interfaces and support, with Sony likely proving better features and support as well now that there is a paid subscription. Despite the better deal, I'm still not too happy that online play is now a paid commodity, but at least you get more with it with Sony.
  6. I feel like this is being misunderstood, so I'm going to try and clarify. This is, as Xorbot (and McFilmMakers) stated above, exactly what we have now and have had. All Sony is saying is that they will not deny companies to implement their own DRM policies if they so desire. This has always been that way. It is not the same thing as what XBOX One has in which they implement their own type of Always-Online policy with their 24 hour checks, independent of publishers' desires. Though this may have an effect on PS4, it is unlikely to see many companies move towards this as of right now as there is obviously great negative reaction and many don't seem to worried about pirating and game sharing. Sony's used game policy as a result will remain wonderfully lenient. At the very least, Sony stated that their games will not force any such DRM action or restrictions previously implemented as passes. Even the notorious EA is doing away with passes. Hopefully the PS4 will be the more prominent console this generation so that publishers are more hesitant to transition to the XBOX side of things and implement DRM or other restrictions on their products themselves. If anything I have said is wrong (mainly on the XBOX side, they are really so confusing with this bull crap) don't hesitate to correct, but from what I can tell, this is how it is.

GG, its done. Used game support. PS4 Wins.
  8. PC Perspective also has a really good review. Looks much more into stuttering and observed FPS. http://www.pcper.com/reviews/Graphics-Cards/AMD-Radeon-HD-7990-6GB-Review-Malta-Gets-Frame-Rated They also have a good benchmarking and series of videos that show how much the Prototype Driver really helps. http://www.pcper.com/reviews/Graphics-Cards/Frame-Rating-AMD-Improves-CrossFire-Prototype-Driver
  9. Yah, I don't know why, but that never occurred to me at the time and its a little late as I have already bought the parts. May add more on later though. Thanks for the reply. :)
  10. Thanks for the suggestion. I already had bought the parts, so I can't change much now, but I know that when I purchased the CPU and mobo, there was no combo deal on it (and you may be looking at an older version; the link is a slightly older plan but I am unable to update my post. The text on the post is what I ended up purchasing though). The 3770K and 3570K is a valid point, and generally I would agree with you, but I went with my personal judgement on it, wrong or not. I agree that 16GB would be better, but for some non-apparent reason it never crossed my mind until I saw the reply by AlphaStick above, and at that point it was too late. I may still decide to add some on later though. Personally, I like the look of the case, and so did my friend. I provided him some different options and that is the one he picked. There may be better designed cases for cheaper, but a large part of deciding a case is picking one that you like visually as well. Thanks for replying. :)
  11. Thanks for the suggestions everyone. At this point I have bought everything, so major changes are no longer an option (CPU, mobo, case, etc.). I wish I could edit the post to state such, but for some reason I am unable to. Again, thanks for the help. :)
  12. Thanks, I had looked into that, but opted for the fans as I could improve noise and airflow while adding the red color he wanted, though not as well as case lighting would have done. I have already bought everything, so at this point its a little late, but thanks for the suggestion. (I would update that I have bought everything already, but apparently the ability to edit main posts is missing) :)
  13. Here's an article on it that I saw today: http://www.pcper.com/news/Graphics-Cards/NVIDIA-Rumored-Release-700-Series-GeForce-Cards-Computex-2013
  14. Here you go: http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/ASUS/GeForce_GTX_670_Direct_Cu_Mini/1.html BTW, Google will answer almost anything you want, including this.
  15. You are correct. This will not be an overclocking system. I will be doing some, but not anything major. I completely forgot about the new gaming line so I didn't actually look at that one. Those boards look so good visually. I'm actually greatly considering choosing that instead as it is cheaper, looks great, and still has the basic features that I'm looking for. Thanks!
