  1. 1.5 billion pixels and yes I am not important ;(
  2. Yeah sure, it's not the most striking exterior design I've seen, but it's far from ugly. It's quite plain, simple and minimalistic, but the thing with minimalistic designs is that while they are not particularly striking or mind blowing in any way, they are also never ugly. At worst you could call them boring, or average, but never ugly. I personally think this case looks decent, but of course this topic is subjective so this is just my opinion.
  3. May I remind you that CES is a very large corporate event with lots of things going on at the same time, so it can be pretty difficult to see everything in detail, but you can expect lots of coverage including articles, videos and livestreams from various companies, as well as the media, press, journalists, ect...
  4. There used to be a search bar, but it wasn't very good. I still think the best way to search for something on the forums is to type it into google along with site:linustechtips.com example: https://www.google.co.uk/#q=how+do+i+search+site:linustechtips.com
  5. Always get drivers from official sources. In your case that would be Nvidia's website for your GPU drivers and Intel's website for your CPU. You don't really need to download anything for your CPU, but if you want to you can get drivers for the your CPU's integrated graphics as well as things like quicksync and other Intel technologies. You would also want to go to your motherboard manufacturer's website to get chipset, USB, LAN, and any other drivers you may need. Links: Nvidia: http://www.nvidia.co.uk/Download/index.aspx? or http://www.geforce.com/drivers Intel: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/
  6. I'm sorry for your loss. I'm still running a Plextor M5 Pro Xtreme. I hope that doesn't die anytime soon.
  7. I bet that's not all, you probably have to download a bunch of updates as well!
  8. Mainly data transfer rate, and access (seek) time are the important ones. Cache size could also be another factor.
  9. To be honest, it's best if you don't convert files if you want the best sound quality possible. But if you really need the space, go ahead and do it, you probably won't even notice the difference.
  10. Hello Harry, Wow that's a pretty impressive giveaway, well done.
  11. The tablet in the first picture looks like it's running android, it could be running a custom launcher that makes the UI look a little different. Does the tablet have google apps installed? (gmail, maps, playstore, etc...) Can you sideload apps or install .apk files? If it's already running android, and it's just a visual skin that you don't like, you could try installing a different launcher, such as nova or google now launcher. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.launcher&hl=en_GB https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.teslacoilsw.launcher&hl=en_GB If you don't like the OS itself, your options are to either return the device or to flash something else. If you want to flash something else, you will have to first go out and find a factory image or a custom rom (if there is one available for your tablet), then you will have to do some research and learn how to flash it.
  12. When I look for roms, I pretty much always go to xda-developers first... xda galaxy ace forums: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-ace You can get official builds of cyanogenmod for your phone here: http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Cooper_Info ...however they only go up to CM7 Android 2.3.X gingerbread. If you're looking for newer roms, I would suggest browsing the XDA forums, and doing a little research to find the one that you like best. You can download odin from various places including xda.
  13. Maybe it's time to change the battery on the motherboard?
  14. Hi, I feel like I should point out that LED isn't a panel technology, it's just a backlight method, another backlight method is CCFL. Most monitors on the market right now are LCD's with LED backlights, using either IPS, TN, VA, PLS or other technologies.
  15. I think it's gone, but no worries... you can always use google search. It works very well, and if I may say better than the search function on this site. just type what you want to search followed by site:linustechtips.com into google search.
  16. Have you tried NVIDIA's shadow play or AMD's game DVR? Both of those are free to use and have a minimal impact on performance.
  17. If the difference is little, then I would agree with you, but in most cases the 970 is significantly cheaper and for those reasons when it comes to pure value the 970 wins hands down, it's not even open for discussion, you get almost the same performance when overclocked (if not more), and at a much lower price point, it just wins when it comes to pure value.
  18. The 780 Ti is more powerful, but the 970 is a much better value at that price. Definitely go with the 970.
