Sid123 got a reaction from Grega216 in What is the most underwhelming/unimpressive piece of tech you own?
The logic........ Sooo flawed
If a cpu has a higher Base clock dosent mean it has a lower oc headroom?!
Intel is just making the job easier for overclockers as they know most ppl are going to oc over 4ghz+
I think you will be super futerproof with that cpu I mean just look at 2500k vs 4670k...Its sad
To the topic it has to be my xbox 360 Slim and any games I bought on it

Ok, what is the typical overclock for Haswells? Roughly around 4.2-4.5ghz on air cooling. 4.5ghz compared to the 3.7ghz 4 core turbo of the 4690k is 21.6% improvement. If I enable what most manufacturers are doing by boosting 4 core turbos to 39, that's a 15% improvement. The i5 750 on the other hand, most people had it overclocked between 3.6-4ghz, 3.6 being more common. I had it at 167xturbo, yielding 3.5ghz 4 cores, 4ghz 1 core- a 25% improvement in performance over stock turbo clocks.
Higher frequency is just a number, what's more important is the performance delta you'll be able to obtained from overclocking.

Ah my fingers have had similar wear and tear from all the bitspower fittings.

It would be nice to know the frequencies of both GPUs (780/290X) when you compare them @ MAX OC, otherwise the results are meaningless (at least for me).

Now you can lock a custom framerate for power saving features and no tearing! 30 FPS is enough for you? Lock it and save your GPU life with lower temps and lower power usage! Very useful for cards like 6990 where you get well beyond 60 FPS and your monitor only suports 60 HZ. Just disable vsync, lock the framerate to whatever value and forget about it!
"Extend official overclocking limits"! We all know that pretty much all the HD 7000 series are OC limited by the AMD in Catalyst! Now I can get 1600 MHZ memory clock and NOT 1250 (wich was the ""normal" limit.) The GPU clock can be OC'ed further as well! OK, there where some workloads but now just check the box and you are set.
ULPS can be disabled now. It never worked for me. When idle (monitor off), my card was starting to spin it's fans randomly@ 70-100%.. sooo annoyng!
Some other compatibility fixes: after suspended mode, afterburner restores it's clocks automatically, so you're not having surprises with some drivers who stick their noses in!
This software was already awesome, with these new features I'm just...happy!
