MSI GTX 670 Power Edition, spent days tinkering with BIOS settings, voltage limits, etc. Got her to stay around 1350mHz. Bounces around depending on the current load.

the lower end SSD's have much lower random read/write speeds than the 840 pro, less than half of the 840 pro's random read/write speeds.

that'll be much more noticeable than the higher sequential speeds.

Same thing as a GTX 670. With a few extra features. I won't be buying the 700 series though. I'm gonna try whatever AMD puts out.

5% faster then a 660Ti with 2GB of VRAM. The 700 series besides the 780 are all rebranded cards. Not sure why Nvidia even bothered with the 700 series. They should've skipped it altogether and just released a Gimped Titan instead. I foresee AMD releasing a new architecture that destroys this rebranded garbage.

IIRC the 670 PE uses the reference voltage controller so the standard kepler volt-mod procedure *may* apply.

It surely has a different power delivery apart from that though..

It's possible. Motherboard with CPU socket, and a GPU socket. GDDR5 RAM slots, etc.Sounds like a great idea to me, makes it easier to install a larger cooler.

Perhaps having a motherboard with 2 slots, one for the CPU and one for the GPU, with slots for CPU memory (DDR3) and the GPU's memory (GDDR5) and just make pci-e slots out of date except for sound, raid, and capture cards.  In the case that you want a GPU with this much power, but more memory than a GPU from a company, say a 2GB 660, you can have a 660 with 4GB's, and also cheaper cooling options than  full reference card custom water blocks, which in all honesty are amazing but too specialized.

Tim is a tech blogger, and an awesome guy. He gets my endorsement.

This statement alone should be enough for you to head over to this link and subscribe to his channel.

    Not good enough for you?

I guess we can sweeten the pie. Tim has GENEROUSLY contributed from his own pocket, a Corsair 900D to give away to his subscribers, BUT with a catch. They HAVE to be a member of the Linus Tech Tips forum. I think it's awesome that he's driving more members to join this awesome community. Here's his video annoucement of the giveaway:

The winner will be picked by Tim on June 30th, and then he'll be checking in with me to make sure that that individual IS who they said they were, and was ALREADY a member of the Linus Tech Tips forum before the prize will be shipped.

Unfortunately due to the weight of the prize (it would cost more than the price of the case for Tim to ship it overseas) this giveaway is US/Canada only.

So take action! Since you are reading this, you probably already know how awesome our forum is and you're probably already signed up, but there's a good chance you're not subscribed to Tim on YouTube. Here's that link again: http://www.youtube.com/user/TimmyTechTV?feature=watch

    And good luck!

i didn't have much of a choice as you can see lol there was nothing in them that i could see anyway and i re-sealed the ends. It works fine :)

the temps are about the same as the stock heatsink but the point was to get it to STFU more than anything and it's really quiet now so i'm happy.

like i said, the PSU was a loaner from a friend so there was really no point in doing any management :)
