Would this setup work for 1080p @120hz / 144hz? Monitor -> hdmi -> mini displayport -> laptop Monitor is a GN246HL, laptop has HDMI 1.4, displayport, mini-displayport. If you have a GN246HL, can you test it for me? I can't find whether the HDMI port of the monitor can output 120/144hz; it's not documented.

I have a GN246HL monitor and a laptop with HDMI 1.4, mini-Displayport and full-sized displayport. I would like to use 144hz on the monitor, but I don't know which adapter to get. I've seen cheaper active Displayport-to-dvi adapters and more expensive ones. What's the difference between one that doesn't require a secondary power source (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16812400507&cm_re=Display_Port_to_DVI-D-_-12-400-507-_-Product) compared to a pricey one like this which does require an external power source (https://www.startech.com/AV/Displayport-Converters/Active-DisplayPort-Dual-Link-DVI-Video-Adapter-Converter~DP2DVID2)? Edit: Would HDMI from the monitor to displayport on the PC work as well for 120/144hz at 1080p? If so, please recommend me some cables. The PF1000U would be awesome for being pretty much a portable TV/monitor!

My keyboard is a crappy rubber dome, and I've tried mech and want one so bad!
-
I would like the keyboard because I have a rubber dome, and it's nothing compared to this high-quality mechanical keyboard.

I don't have an SSD but my friend does, and he showed me a benchmark. So jealous...

Lexar 256GB USB having horrible random write speeds?
tze1000 replied to tze1000's topic in Storage Devices
Well I run osu! on it and it does a ton of random writes. -
I bought a 256 GB Lexar Jumpdrive and exchanged it after getting horrible write speeds in general. The one I exchanged it for has horrible random write speeds (3 IOPS). Is this normal? CrystalDiskMark: imgur.com/jMq1EQi

Smart switch; it's amazing!

Well he did shout something like "it's my birthday give it to me" (classic YouTube kid statement by the way) and "Me! Me!" But then they cut off the giveaway part though. They gave away the processor and ssd to people by asking Linus trivia questions.

Man I really wanted to see the YouTube comments about the kid... But oh man the intense flame wars that would ensue...
