  1. CPU's can degrade over time, but if they are kept in a clean environment it shouldn't be much of a problem. They are fragile, grease on the pads can degrade the connectivity and thus reduce stability. A CPU in use will degrade faster than one that is not is use, but there is no "need" for it. No, you need server/workstation grade motherboards and CPU's for that.
  2. If they don't agree with you doesn't mean they are trolls. There are a lot of people (like me) who like the LTT community, but dislike shitposting that goes around and the people involved with it.
  3. He does have a valid point. Maybe not the age, but at least the level of maturity, which is generally speaking in line with each other.
  4. I beg to differ, there are a lot of replies posted by the top posters that are not in off topic and still don't contribute a single thing to the topic at hand. Most of those replies are simple echos from what was already said before and lack any substantiation.
  5. Most of those "top posters" get their posts from useless replies that don't help anyone.
  6. Don't see it as dying off, it's more like getting rid of the rotten apples.
  7. The most active times are from 4PM-10PM CE(S)T. Most of the time, there are people online however.
  8. Most of the newer review give no problems and if people had problems, Asrock was fast to offer their help.
  9. I've had none of those problems with mine.
  10. Check out this one: http://www.asrockrack.com/general/productdetail.asp?Model=C2750D4I It has enough SATA ports and is just an awesome board.
  11. The stand should support it. You can find replacement stands if yours does not support it.
  12. Not really, you won't notice any difference unless you read and write a lot of big files to an SSD.
  13. I'm not saying it's not good, but if those features are not supported in OS X, he should try it on Windows.
  14. Why not install Windows on those Macs?
  15. Not even, run it as a VM. Do not use it for gaming, it is not optimised at all and you might get frequent BSODs.
  16. Have you changed location settings? Japanese, Chinese and other similar location settings can cause this.
  17. Here is a good article from Asus as why they still prefer Intel NICs over Killer NICs http://rog.asus.com/312772014/labels/guides/tried-and-tested-why-intel-ethernet-is-still-better-for-gaming/ (Google Cache) Basically, Intel NICs still perform better and support more features hardware wise (read OS independent).
  18. What program are you using to virtualize?
  19. Basically, do not dual boot, just run it in a VM (Use something like VMware Player for free).
  20. I don't think so. If i'm not mistaken, the new RGB switches use a new mounting system.
  21. Your only way is probably getting a better package with your ISP. Not much else you can do.
  22. Software RAID is not faster than a hardware RAID at all, most of the time it's the other way around.
  23. But they are not recognized during POST, so the system will not boot.
