  1. You always need to have a GPU, is it a dedicated card, iGPU or one on your motherboard, you need at least one. Even after the installation you will need one, or the system will just not boot. That will not work, the system will not boot as it will only see it as a display and not as a GPU.
  2. True, but who the hell needs SLI when you have 8 monitors?
  3. It's better then with the 500 series and before, those only supported 2 monitors / GPU.
  4. It won't last long with that voltage, I can tell you that much.
  5. Hosting on your home network is really not advised and comes with tonnes of security and technical issues. You're far better off getting hosting by a bigger provider.
  6. The iMacs are know to have heat issues, that's probably why they went with AMD. They don't want to change things up too much. Nvidia wouldn't have been hot enough.
  7. I have and I regularly check if there are updates. Maybe you should read it to some time (hint hint).
  8. Code of Conduct: http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/95599-linus-tech-tips-forum-code-of-conduct/ You agreed to it when you joined the forum, so maybe you should read it again and keep to it. Especially read section 4.2.

  12. The stock GTX 980 cooler is very good, no need to change it.
  13. I have 2 G710+'s and none of them have had any problems.
  14. It depends on what kind of files you are transferring and to where. A lot of little files will be a lot slower than a single large file. It also depends if the file is fragmented a lot or not. If you are transferring files to a USB stick, most of the times, the USB stick will be the limiting factor.
  15. I have no idea what you are saying, can you please restate your question or problem in a understandable way?
  16. The first one only supports 3.5" HDDs, the second one also supports 2.5" HDDs or SSDs.
  17. I use https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/modern-new-tab-page/ogllliimbhgmclkgjldeffhjbhaenapo
  18. There are not really minimum specs, as long as the CPU supports VT-d it will work. If your budget is so high, I would recommend looking at pre-build Dell servers, the quality and support will be far greater than anything you build yourself.
  19. For 200 GBP? I'm afraid that's pushing it too much.
  20. In PHP, I have enough checks to prevent abuse.
  21. If you are not planning RAID, get Green drives. The performance of a single drive will be almost the same. Red drives are just optimised to run in RAID.
