Running most games on low at 1080p sucks, so I could use an upgrade.

I think I found a hidden linus! But in all seriousness is that really linus?

Try a different monitor, maybe that one finally died. You can get a spare one from a computer store for about $10, or pay them five to allow you to plug your stuff into there monitor.
-
The only thing that I think of is : Possibility 1 : I heard a "RUMOR" about a virus that flashes the motherboard with a copy of its self and screws everyone and everything. Possibility 2 : Bad laptop?

The CMOS battery is the little battery on your motherboard (probably hidden under your graphics card). Here is a video on how to remove it. (you might have to be a little rough with it, some of the cmos battery's are jammed in there tight as can be. still be careful, my #1 rule of technology, if it is requiring jamming or brute force, it probably doesn't go / fit / work that way.) Option one : If the problem persists return the motherboard. Option two : PM / quote me and I will get back to you as soon as I can. Option three : do some research on your monitor, compatibility issue? Option four : Try a different graphics card, my buddy has ran into issues with using intel cpu with amd gpu.

There is no harm in returning these items, you paid for them with your money, so my recommendation is warranty your parts always, and return the Graphics card. Try testing all of the inputs to the Graphics card, Dvi-I, Dvi-D, Hdmi, Display Port. Try a different Graphics Card. Try a different power supply. Try a different Motherboard.

What is the difference between the HX1000i and AX1000i?

Didn't you hear, he is planning on powering his neighborhood with that... -
First thing I want to say is, Congratulations on your first build man . Second thing is, did you plug your power cables into the Graphics card? If so then is your power supply made by ultra, If your power supply is in fact an ultra power supply then GET RID OF THAT THING, POSSIBLY BURN IT WITH FIRE!! (For some reason that power supply doesn't like overclocking on that motherboard, send everthing back for replacement, and blame it on the power supply and buy something like a corsair power supply). Try different ram, or don't overclock it at all (Try factory defaulting your motherboard by clearing the CMOS (Use your motherboard guide on how to do this)). If any of these steps don't help respond to me by PM or quote.

Check your steam settings, maybe you have the update whilst playing games feature enabled : http://gyazo.com/63e239edd4f3a6b0a70a1b10ef6c625b -
If you don't hear any beeps your speaker is hooked up improper, Make sure the white lettering is facing up (Consult your motherboard manual, most common may be white facing up, but your motherboard may want the lettering downwards).

Computer shuts down when demanding games are played

I personally would change the thermal compount as prior stated by Josh107, that sounds like a good idea, maybe upgrade to a higher end cooler? H105 or maybe a hyper 212 evo? What case do you have? Cases sometimes don't have good enough air flow (Or fans). If you don't have the money due to the upgrade, maybe consider putting a fan (Yes, and actually fan, like a house fan) next to your computer to cool in until you fix the issue? -
But of course, the guy that said Playstation is a worthless piece of crap, XBOXFANBOY so yeah... he is pretty cool with me. FYI I like Sony products I own a ps2 ps-vita ps3 and many others, I just like xbox more. I am not, so I think that will be quite easy. Gotcha bud Who is cokeman? Whew... Many comments saying don't be a dick, I donno I might get the urge, Nahh Just Kidding Counter Genjustsu, penalty for falling into my genjutsu trap you must listen to this full length, and then I will accept you as the winner *(provided that you have the proof that you watched it). Who is this coke guy? I am really curious now... who is that? Ahh... a dbag of some sort right? I am kinda lost, someone fill in for me? I don't hashtag sorry. I am not a dick / douchbag or anything like that, I will try my best to help the members of the community and salute our great king :
