  1. Yea, I learned that a while ago, and I'm finally rectifying my mistake. I would go with the CS650M but I need at least 8 SATA power connectors.
  2. It wouldn't be, I have 12 inches of clearance. Thanks for the tip!

  4. The thing is I don't need a GPU right now, my 660ti still ticks along, I just need more power for the newer games coming out. So should I wait until CES to buy anything or is it just not worth it?
  5. Nah, the PSU is some cheap 1000W corsair PSU. The fan has been wonky and revs up to full speed and I just want something 80+ certified and something quieter. And I figured about the EVGA cards, I just wanted to make sure. Thanks for the help!
  6. First off, sorry if this question is asked a lot, but I tried to search and could't find anything. Basically, I want to get a new GPU, and I'm looking at the 1080 because of VR and longevity. So I have a few questions: Which one should I get? I've heard EVGA has VRM issues (that have supposedly been adress) and I think Gigabyte had BIOS issues so are there any cards to steer clear of or ones that anyone would recommend? Should I wait to get it with the 1080TI coming? In case of a price drop/maybe I'll want to get that instead. Lastly my system is somewhat old, I'm rocking an i7 3820 with an EVGA X79 FTW motherboard, so would the be any compatibility issues? Probably not, I just wanted to make sure. In short, I have at most $1,000 US that I want to spend on a GPU/PSU so I was planning on getting a GTX 1080 with a EVGA Supernova 750W PSU, and I have the concerns listed above. Does everything check out?

Hasn't google been doing this for years now?
  8. If this isn't the right place to discuss this then I'll remove the post, but I had a thought the other day while watching a video where Linus referenced one of his staff... I am horrible with names and faces, so I was thinking it would be cool if Linus and the crew did a short "bio" video or something. I'm not referencing a "Draw my life" video, just a video where they chat about who they are, what they like, and really anything that they are comfortable with, as well as what the do in Linus media group, etc. I think one 'bio' video a week, until they cover everything, would be cool. I know it isn't strictly tech related, but that way when Linus references someone doing something I have a better idea of who he is talking about. Hell, maybe even take a half hour segment of the wan show just to do the same think, I don't know, I am sure LMG could come up with a more refined way of doing it. I enjoy seeing the personality that comes through in channel super fun videos, and I'd like to get a bit more of that personality. Again, I don't know if this is the right place to discuss this, or if the idea has been brought up and shot down before, but I figure I might as well mention it.
  9. I can't seem to access the folder, does that mean it just doesn't exist, or that I don't have the right permissions or something?
  10. I, for one, am very excited about the forcetouch. Finally some innovation that will make typing on a touch screen more acceptable.
  11. Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaamnit. I just got my G4 yesterday.
  12. Thanks. I figured as much, the receiver was expensive enough that I figured it would be solid, I just wanted to get a second opinion. Again, thank you so much.
  13. Through HDMI... I could also hook it up through fiber if that would work better.
  14. So I'm not really an audiophile, but I do like quality sound. Currently I have a Denon AVR-X110W and ATH M-50x hooked up to my rig, and I just run the m50x off the receiver. So, is it worth while getting a DAC, would it make any noticeable difference over the receiver? Thanks for the help.
  15. Don't forget the RGB SSDs!
  16. I'm not trying to make this an Intel v AMD thing, but I have just heard that from AMD (or something similar at least) before and been let down too many times.
  17. Honestly I was kinda hoping to have to wipe my drive in order to upgrade so I can finally clean up some old files. Oh well. Guess I'll just have to do things the easy way.
  18. This is a perfect allegory if I've ever seen one. It really highlights the 'trendy nerdy' phase that people seem to cling to.
  19. But isn't that AMDs problem... as in shouldn't they (as in AMD) offer a more compelling feature so they win the business of consumers? I understand why monopolies are bad (m'kay) shouldn't their competitors being doing more to get equal?
  20. I posted this on another related post, and I legitimate want answers to this question, I want to know about the flaws in my logic. Anyways, here is the post: Honestly I don't get why people get so butthurt about this. If it bothers you that you can't get certain features or settings then just buy NVidia the next time you're due for an upgrade. What is so hard about that? Also, not everything is open source, and just because people want it to be doesn't mean that it should be/will be. Is it so bad that a company wants compensation for their hard work?
