  1. Whelp. Sorry, i was lazy. found it pretty quickly this time. Thanks for the tip.
  2. Thanks for the speedy reply! Is there an easy way to buy refurbished via Dell in Canada?
  3. Wondering how reputable the site Refurb.io ( http://ca.refurb.io/ ) is for buying used electronics. Any word on their track record is appreciated! Thanks all
  4. OH excellent. I've seen this elsewhere, and its always either 600 dollars, out of stock, or both. Thanks so much.
  5. Ohhhh...I've never heard of this website. Do they ship to Canada? As for the motherboard, I've heard similar bad things about the WiFi, BUT it is better for the money. I don't overclock at all. I like the spacing for the socket as well, considering my CPU cooler. Thanks again
  6. Yes I've seen this one as well. NCIX has it listed as "out of stock, but available for special order." I don't mind the color, but have read bad things about the on-board Wi-Fi. Either way, it is another good option. Thanks
  7. That was one of the ones I came across. Definitely towards the top of the budget, but looks good, reviews and all. Thanks, eh? Appreciate it.
  8. Hello all! I'm looking for an LGA1150 mini-itx motherboard. Needs to have front USB 3.0 and a full-size PCIE slot, as well as to have the CPU socket near the top of the board (large cooler). I'll be installing it in the Fractal Design Nano S with a 4790k, 2x8gb of ram, and a gtx 980. I've been looking for something under $200 CAD for about a week with no luck as of right now. Looks to me like most of them are out of production nowadays, but any links you folk can provide will be an absolute godsend. Thank you all!
  9. Hello helpful people! I am looking to built an AIO-type computer that needs to have a built-in keyboard. I have been looking (with no luck at all) at pieces online that are intended for people to build/repair/customize mechanical keyboards. What i need is the PCB and key-switches. Either as a package, separately (and compatible with one another), or from a specific keyboard that is easy to dismantle. As well, it would be super helpful if they were plug-and-play, with no additional configuration required to work with windows on a software level. Thank you so much for any pointers or links!
  10. I have an evga gtx 980 SC, 16gb ddr3 @1866mhz, asus z97-A usb 3.1, adata sx900 ssd, seagate barracuda 1tb, i7 4790k, and evga 750w b2 bronze PSU. All clocks are stock, and all is air cooled. Previously ( https://linustechtips.com/main/topic/581636-black-screen-flashing-during-normal-use-of-pc/#comment-7594786 ), i had issues with the screen flashing black occasionally on my PC. I have tried everything i can think of: -Checking & switching cables -Replacing both the PSU and GPU w/ RMA -slight over-volt on the card to prevent it dipping below stable clock speed (didnt know this was possible, but the LTT forum gave me the advice.) -changing the PCIE slot on the motherboard that the card is plugged into. -Switching to firefox, becuase the flashing seemed to ONLY happen when chrome was open. Nothing worked. BUT ive finally figured it out. The flashing only happens when Facebook is open in a window. The flashes directly follow both the opening of the page, and scrolling through the timeline. That narrows it down, but i still have one question: HOW. How does this happen? Only Facebook, doesn't matter what browser or where its open, it causes the monitor its on to blink black. If theres anything that can be done about this, or even an explanation, it would be appreciated. Thanks so much.
  11. I have tried everything that was suggested, and to no avail. i Switched the cables around as well, just to be sure, and now both monitors flash black occasionally. Help.
  12. I am using the DVI connector via an IO gear dvi to hdmi cable for the primary monitor, and an hdmi to hdmi connection fro the secondary monitor. Both are set to auto-detect inputs. I am using a clean install of the latest nvidia drivers, but have had this issue for almost 10 months, even after an RMA of the PSU and GPU. I should mention as well: no matter which inputs i use for which monitors, it is always the one set to primary that blinks. I have no idea why. Also, i noticed today that scrolling fast in facebook in google chrome especially triggered MULTIPLE flashes, lasting a good five minutes, again without any driver or hardware errors. I am now trying firefox for the fist time have have seen no problems. I have no idea how this could affect whatever is going on.
  13. Okay, so...ive tried everything that was suggested. increasing the voltage limit to +50 mV with afterburner, and by changing the Nvidia settings to demand more power draw....and to no avail. The screen will still flash periodically. I was wondering though; any chance its the pcie slot on the ASUS Z97-A USB 3.1? i am using the top one, but the one below is 8x (which is fine for bandwidth, i think) so would that possibly be the blinking problem?
  14. Ahh okay. This is starting to make sense. I will try that as soon as i reinstall the 980. We will see how this goes
  15. Okay, I will try both of these. I am understanding that if im not overclocking, then raising the voltage limit like IanDrexP suggested will not induce any reliability or thermal issues. I am also assuming that raising the limit is not the same thing as "overvolting" (call me out if i am wrong there). And as for Fireknives, would combining these suggestions be a bad idea? as in...raising the voltage limit, and then forcing the card to work harder?
