By quite a long shot, the Deepcool DQ-ST is definitely the best of those units. It's not even comparable to most of those.

It doesn't look like those are the only PSUs available, but rather the PSUs that you consider cheap enough. That, or every single PC build in your area uses super low end PSUs.

No. It's a great way to waste time. It's useless and overestimates by a ton.

This alone makes me believe that they are garbage. If it could compete in terms of quality with the CX series, why would it be priced at half the price? Forget the Corsair CX series, why would it be priced below other similar EVGA units? Price isn't a valid measure of quality, but it does say a lot when a PSU is half the price of another poor quality unit by the same company.

EVGA has priced the BT at almost half the price of the B3 (a tier 4 PSU on LTT tier list).
    EVGA BT 450W - $25 ($9.99 with $20 mail in rebate)
    EVGA B3 450W - $45 ($35 with $20 mail in rebate)

Is the BR series possibly a replacement/rehash for the B series (tier 5)? From what I can see, that is the market EVGA is targeting with these units.

Especially true and expect it to be especially crap when you're talking about a $25 PSU ($9.99 WITH REBATE!) and don't have any information proving otherwise.

Someone who just happens to have a load tester and an oscilloscope, and knowledge of a PSU's internals? If it's not a reviewer, noone will really find out. Customer reviews mean nothing.

As with any PSU, they are crap until proven otherwise. If they haven't sent out review samples, it's likely because they don't want reviewers to confirm that they are crap.

I agree with @STRMfrmXMN in that you shouldn't try and disassemble the unit and repair it yourself.  We do offer a warranty program for our products, where they can be replaced through our RMA service.  You'll just need to follow the link below, submit a support ticket, and one of our technical support staff can assist you with a replacement.  There are different options depending on how fast you need the replacement as well.  Let me know if you run into any issues, or have additional questions.

    There is a reason why.
Because its not a real 600W PSU, its garbage that is labeled as 600W, probably like 300W inside.

Dude, you are trying to power a 500€ GPU with a 20€ PSU.

A shitty PSU will destroy your components!
So get a good one so that you can have fun with the PC longer...

That thing looks like it's absolute garbage. 720W on the 12V rails on an 850W PSU is garbage.

The Earthwatts Gold Pro 750W for $70, or the RM850x 2018 for $90.

If you have to ask then you shouldn't attempt it. Maybe work on some hobby electronics before opening up a PSU with loaded capacitors.

But yes, you can technically fix it. It would be much more cost-effective to set up an RMA with Corsair. @Corsair Josephand @Corsair Nickcan help ya out, I do believe.

Yes, but the psu is really low end. With such a solid cpu you should get something better like a focus, g1+/g2/g3 or rmx/rmi. Also get 2x16gb ram instead.

You are aware your build is really lopsided towards cpu and ram right?

    Apples and oranges.
Same as asking why anyone would choose a Xeon 8180 instead of a G4560. They're not really comparable.

In case nobody mentioned it and I missed it otherwise - you'll need a copy of Windows 10 too since all modern systems are forced to run Windows 10 unless you do some gentle caressing and friendly eyebrows at Windows 7 and 8.

They are both not that great.

And why is buying online not an option? You seem to have other sources for your components, do you?
Why do you want to abuse the components with an undeserving PSU?!

Coil whine is normal, though it can sometimes be RMAd.
EVGA has no similarly priced PSUs that are as good as the Focus. They have a bunch of worse ones, though.

I said that a GTX 1080 system can be powered on a 450W unit. 600-700W is what I'd recommend for an SLI system or a HEDT system with a 1080 Ti.

99% of systems could easily be powered on a 400W unit! Here's a status update where I talk about the power draw of my 1700X and GTX 970 system, both OC'd.

An i5 8500 and 1060, under normal circumstances, would probably not even break 200W, but if you wanted to OC the 1060 then make allocations for about 225 or so watts.

A Corsair CX450M should be alright for that system. If you want a nicer unit then go for a Bitfenix Whisper 450W or Seasonic Focus Plus Gold 450W.
