decer304 got a reaction from Big-G in Australia's FTTN NBN fails to deliver advertised net speeds
This is what i have at the moment. It is currently Australia's highest end offering (cable internet) for the mainstream, its kinda pathetic when you compare it to the rest of you guys. What annoys me is that Liberals new plan of FTTN provides a 10th of the speed of full FTTP at a third of the cost. Its a pathetic cost saving measure that will cost us more in the long run. If Linus saw this proposition and he was the leader, he would have this low end video card rant all over again. The cost savings does not justify the performance.

On the bright side, i start uni this year.... Cant wait for the ridiculous Uni internet speeds.

There is a reason on why the victorian government keeps an old os. I went to visit the Victorian Bureau of Meteorology which is also home to the bushfire commission, and i saw them even running machines, that were up to date hardware wise, but were running windows 95. They were asked by many people on why, and the answer is simple. It works now, and by upgrading, they are risking software glitches, and at the time, when bushfires were at a high risk, were not an option. Even in downtime, a glitch in software can takes months to fix, and that may be too late, and could cost lives.

decer304 got a reaction from Bensemus in Samsung hired 500 fake fans for Galaxy S6 China launch
You guys have to understand that the money they are given is considered alot for such little work. You cant look at its conversion directly and say "oh $3 is nothing", that is very ignorant. There are plenty of poor people in China, and 20-50 yuan is big money to many. You have to consider what that can buy locally. I know 20-50 yuan can buy heaps more than $2-3 can in their own country.
Also, while i dont feel that this is a good thing to do, i do understand samsung's mentality when doing this. As Chinese people are very about their image, and will likely buy whatever is most popular, hence a very large portion of iphone users, It is very hard to crack into a market full of people who are incredibly blind to alternatives and would only accept popular/famous brands. so your only option is to buff yourself artificially.

Before anyone tries to have a go at me, i will say that i am Chinese and i know what it is like personally.

Yeah, except is at the rear and takes up a pci-e slot. Thats why i think its redundant. There are plenty of front panel hotswap bays that are far more accessible, and more practical.

decer304 got a reaction from Scepsis in G-Sync/FreeSync & Why I'm Not Buying Either
The argument that freesync is better becuase is open source is invalid as there are only 2 companies in the gpu market. Because in this situation, they are both effectively closed-source, as there is noone to share the open source variable refresh with.
