(Note: I've been working on & off on this mod since april last year so I've already got a lot of updates which i copied from my other blog, hope you won't mind  )

So I wanted to try my hand at a G5 case mod for a while so I finally got myself one:
    resources/examples I'm using:

    How I got it:

    The tray is in

    Cutting to (the) c(h)ase

    Mounting the tray:

    Watching paint dry:

    Reassembly:

Cut out a hole for the PSU:

    Mod complete:

    Skills learned so far:
painting drilling filing sanding cable crimping not keeping budget under control  water cooling

I had neither of those too, that's why it took me over a year to finish it  . I just bought the stuff bit by bit and learned by doing (see the top post of stuff I've learned while doing this build).

I'd say it's a pretty good color match, maybe a tad darker but not really noticeable. You would have to put the two right next to each other to see a difference. I don't know however if it's available in the US. When I was researching paint options I found that rustoleum (I think it was used in this mod) and plasti-dip also had colors that matched the case but those aren't easy to find in europe.

I'd also go for the r9 280x, price performance it's the better card.

The budget right now is 200-250 so I was thinking to do a basic loop now and later add more rads as I added a gpu to the loop.

Didn't do a lot today, I measured the fan and dimensions of my PSU and test fitted it. Then I traced the hole on the panel and used a dremel to cut it out.

I have the i5 version (purchased for 800 w/ typecover) and it's honestly the best thing ever. I use it for 90% of my computer use, and I wouldn't classify myself as "people who don't know shit."

LOL next time keep your pointless opinion to yourself. The Surface Pro 3 is a great tablet.... if you can barely manage 500gb, then you must not have any tablet.
