LuisCorner reacted to Zando_ in USB WAVE-LIKE TRANSFER
Yeah that's normal, it's going to slow down/speed up depending on what type and what size of file it's copying.

Looks like a cache that is getting filled up.
Probably filling the ram cache or a slc cache on the drive. pretty normal for a usb stick.

LuisCorner reacted to Energycore in Is the Cooler Master T4 Compatible with this Motherboard?
Yeah it is compatible. It should ship with an AM3+ mounting kit.
Look at the product specs. http://www.coolermaster.com/cooling/cpu-air-cooler/hyper-t4/

LuisCorner reacted to Glenwing in HDMI looks worse than DVI-I in my pc
DVI-I is just a DVI + VGA combo port. Newer graphics cards do not have VGA support, so DVI-I ports are not possible.
The HDMI adapter probably looks worse because it is converting HDMI signals into VGA, whereas a DVI-I port outputs native VGA signals when an adapter is attached.

Use skype windows 10 edition?
Or you can do this to remove ads from the old skype non-windows-10 version: https://www.cnet.com/how-to/how-to-disable-ads-in-skype/

LuisCorner reacted to PCGuy_5960 in Fastest INTEL and AMD CONSUMER grade CPUS?
Yes, but the average consumer doesn't need 8 Cores and 16 Threads
Ryzen CPUs are enthusiast CPUs for consumer prices (to me)

LuisCorner reacted to WMGroomAK in Fastest INTEL and AMD CONSUMER grade CPUS?
If you are just looking Multi-Core Perf in Cinebench, then it would be 6950X, 5960X and 6900k for Intel (Consumer HEDT) and any of the R7 lineup for AMD.

LuisCorner reacted to PCGuy_5960 in Fastest INTEL and AMD CONSUMER grade CPUS?
For multicore performance:
Intel => 6950X AMD => 1800X -
LuisCorner reacted to Oshino Shinobu in Fastest INTEL and AMD CONSUMER grade CPUS?
AMD is very much marketing them as consumer chips though, so that's what counts if you ask me. Intel's enthusiast chips, however, are quite clearly separated from the consumer chips and are on a different platform.
I assume you mean multi-threaded, so applications like rendering and encoding, or just multitasking in general.
In that case, for Intel:
7700K
6700K
5775C
AMD:
1800X
1700X
1700

Then you didn't look at the post dates.
1800x, 1700x, 1700. 1st to 3rd.
They are consumer grade. They are great for (hobby) content creators AND streamers. So not really enthausiasts grade. Considering the price, they are consumer grade. They also use AM4 motherboards, without many bells and whisles, so again: consumer grade.
Also, AMD thinks 8 cores is the future. (and I agree) Just as AMD lead the way to duo cores. (correct me if I am wrong, but AMD was the first with a 2 cores CPU at a fair price?)

i7-7700K
Ryzen 7 1700(I still consider it enthusiast grade though.....)

LuisCorner reacted to Simon771 in I7 4790K and HYPER 212 EVO Problem
Not 4GHz ... 4,4GHz on all active cores.
And I didn't touch voltage at all.
And I didn't lost silicon lottery, because my CPU can handle 4,8GHz if temps are okay. So after I delid it, temps should be okay for me to run 4,8GHz on all cores all the time. At least I hope so
I had stable 4,7GHz at 1,31V, I just didn't like my temps to be around 95°C, so I'm on stock settings for now.
Was hoping that Ryzen will score at least 180 points in single core performance in Cinebench ... in that case I would sell that 4790k and just go with Ryzen since it's soldered and running cold.

LuisCorner got a reaction from Simon771 in I7 4790K and HYPER 212 EVO Problem
Well i marked you as solved i didnt know the 4790k needed to be delided to reach good temperatures.
When i looked on the web for the 4790k and 212 evo i read this " the 212 should be good up to 4.6 but it's not guaranteed. 4.6 is pretty common with the 4790K and EVO, but if you want to go over that, you'll probably need a better cooler. "
Thanks for the info everyone.

LuisCorner reacted to SLAYR in Fastest amd and intel processors to date
The best number crunchers will be intel xeons, or amd opterons.
If you go for just the best number crunching consumer cpus they will be the i7 6950x, 6900k, 5960x, 6850k, 5830k, 6800k, 5820k, and the 4960x.
AMD has the 9590, 9370, 8370, 8350, 8370e, and 8320e, but the i7s will be better.

I love the way you have to scroll really far to see an AMD processor, and the first one to come up is the FX-9370, not the 9590

The 4790K will work perfectly with that board, but you will be wasting your money as you can't overclock K chips on H97 boards.

Nah, it's a chassis intrusion connector. Which actually might be the issue preventing the pc to boot properly. Try going into the bios and disable it.

I'm clueless but have you made sure that everything is plugged back in properly where they are supposed to be? Is there anything inside the slimcase after you pulled it all out that looks out of place?
And have you tried contacting the Dell CS? Maybe they could shed some light on it.
