Something seems wrong with my CPU or my heatsink.
I currently have my i7 4790k cooled by a Hyper 212 EVO at 4.4Ghz and the maximum tempearutes are between 70~75C° on FULL load (20~ min rendering in Blender CPU) , they seem fine to me, the problem is when i try to increase the Ghz by 0.1 the maximum temperatures go up by 25~30C° while rendering the same frame in just under a minute, reaching 100C° and then throttling. Can someone help me to know better what is going on.
•I used the thermal paste that came with the heatsink
•i used the line method
•I cleaned the heatsink and made sure it was well attached

These are user results so there probably aren't many people submitting results with cutting edge xeons.
Well you are right i think i wont inculde xeons, just the i7s.
But i think this is the best to exist http://ark.intel.com/products/93790/Intel-Xeon-Processor-E7-8890-v4-60M-Cache-2_20-GHz?

Don't know if this includes Xeon processors, but definitely great info to have.
Yeah as i said i dont think the 6950x is the fastest numer crunshing processor to exist.

Sorry for this dumb question but i got for homework to investigate what are the 5 best numer cruncing processors TO DATE from Intel and AMD, i know the basics about cpus but is there even a list where i can find the top of the line to the lowest performance cpus?
From intel i have been looking at this chart : http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/processors/core/core-i7ee-processor.html
But i dont think the i7s are faster than a 24 core xeon in calculations apps
From amd im a bit in the dark.
Can someone please enligthen me please -
wtf, Only Nvidia cards have physx, and why do you have a 750ti and a 4790K???
Multitasking
only nvidia cards have the physx option so.... 750ti....
i mean this
-
750 ti or 4790k for physx
The title tells it, i have a 750ti and a i7 4790k i want to know what is better to use as physx

is there a lot of hackers online?
Yes but on clan servers they are pretty much kicked within seconds or minutes
-
My bad, on PC.
Also is there a large community still?
Yes, there is a ton of ppl playing
-
On PC Yes. on consoles i dont know

Should work just fine.
Question. If you're not overclocking, and you're going h97, why get a K SKU?
i7 4790k @4.00Ghz up to 4.4Ghz Turbo Boost>>>>> i7 4790 @3.6Ghz up to 4.0Ghz Turbo Boost
-
The 4790K will work perfectly with that board, but you will be wasting your money as you can't overclock K chips on H97 boards.
Considering 97 boards are made for that particular cpu I would be shocked if it wasn't. lol
ty my fear is now gone
-
Looking at the intel website Compatible List
looks like it its compatible but it doesnt show up the ASRock H97M Anniversary
You may ask why h97 the reason is i do not plan on oc but i have the fear that the motherbard single 4 pin power connector will fry with that cpu
please tell me if i have nothing to fear

After this post -> Post
I got some recommendations about what should i get, moving from a dual core to a quad core.
The motherboards im looking now are the following ones:
Motherboards
Gigabyte
Asrock
and the CPU is this one:
Intel
Core i5 4460 3.2Ghz Quad Core Lga 1150Im about to order the gigabyte mobo and the cpu, is there anything i need to know? is there something wrong about THOSE combos? please let me know if i should buy something better or change something
1. Budget & Location
I can afford all 4 combos, and maybe a little more.
5. Why are you upgrading?
I need to do multitasking and doing it with a dual core cpu its a pain in the brain i have some tabs open and when i try to do something like opening a game example: hearthstone the pc starts to get frozen for shot periods of time, but when im doing single tasks it works perfect even run bf 3 sp- at 60~170 fps on a gtx 750 ti on ULTRA
6. Minor Problem
I saw those motherboards require a 12v 8 pin power connector, but my power supply only has a 4 pin power connector , i read on some forums i can plug in the 4 pin into the 8 pin but you can have random shutdowns because of power delivery, if there is no problem i will leave it like that.
-
do you have a microcenter or fry's electronics nearby?
not even close, even if i find one they will sell the mobo for like $200 dlrs when i can but it online for $110-140
-
also curious, why only amazon and ebay?
Mexico
-
but what's your budget?
200 to 300 to 400 usd dollars on just the CPU and the MOTHERBOARD(it also says in the post ._.)

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant
CPU: Intel Core i3-4330 3.5GHz Dual-Core Processor ($126.98 @ OutletPC)Motherboard: Asus Z87M-Plus Micro ATX LGA1150 Motherboard ($88.99 @ SuperBiiz)Storage: Crucial MX100 128GB 2.5" Solid State Drive ($62.99 @ Amazon)Video Card: Sapphire Radeon R9 280X 3GB Tri-X Video Card ($229.99 @ Newegg)Power Supply: XFX XTR 750W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply ($84.99 @ NCIX US)Total: $593.94Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when availableGenerated by PCPartPicker 2015-01-20 01:23 EST-0500Video card could wait a little bit, but my intention was to give you the option of eventually crossfiring two of them which would give very solid performance. A single 280x is a very strong card for 1080p though. If you decide to stay single GPU, your 500W psu is fine.If you wait on video cards, you can definitely get something like an i5-4440 instead of the i3.Holy Cow thats a lot of money, more than i expected i have the storage+video card i just want the CPU+MOBO buti i think i have to buy a new psu anyways due to the 8 pin connector (i have 4 pin connector)

Honestly, LGA775 is still a good platform to moderately play games on. Just get a nice Q8200 and youl'll be fine.
I know it is good to play games but not really good at multi tasking i can get still 20-50fps on bf3 Multiplayer 64 Players but when i try to open any twitch video + a youtube tab i can not close mozilla or do anything else unless i lower the quality to Medium
