  1. 1) Blues are pretty loud but it shouldn't be an issue as long as you have the room to yourself. Here is a video of blues: they are quite loud but some people like it 2) Browns are awesome, the have a "clacky" sound instead of the blue's "clicky" sound. They are just as light to press as the blues (i believe they have the same actuation force). Browns are also great for typing or gaming imo. 3) Sorry don't know much about linear switches (reds) but sounds like blues or browns would best suit you. I would go with blues if you like how they sound and have a room to yourself. Otherwise browns are also a great switch. If you do decide on blues, I would go with the older poseidon (non Z series), since they use the more reliable and trusted MX blues. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16823162028 Or you could go with the CM Storm quickfire TK, which comes in browns or blues. I have the quickfire tk in browns and I love them (they were my first mech keyboard). Just keep in mind that the TK is semi-tenkeyless and has the numlock switch between the number pad and arrow keys. Takes some getting used to but I love it.
  2. So I have a Hackintosh that dual boots OS X and Win7. I currently have a CM Storm Quickfire TK with Browns but I really like the sound and feel of Blues too. Does anyone know if the Poseidon works with OS X? (I'm talking about the original Poseidon, not the new poseidon Z with the cheap Khail switches). Also, are there any other mx blue keyboards (backlit) that are at such a low price? (and are potentialy OS X compatible)? Thanks
  3. Thanks for the info! I'll be going with the Monoprice
  4. That Monoprice desktop amp/DAC looks pretty good, I read around and heard that its basically an e09k with a built in DAC. Now this is a tough decision... what do you mean by better connectors? Also, If I have speakers plugged into the DAC, is it easy to switch back and forth between speaker/headphone output? Thanks for all the responses everyone Edit: After a bit more research, i am leaning towards the Monoprice desktop amp
  5. What does OTG do? I don't need it to be portable, as it will just be sitting on my desk
  6. Thanks for the quick responses everyone, i'll be getting the e10k then, unless anyone has recommendations for a DAC/Amp combo.
  7. I have the ATH-M50's right now and they sound great, but they really aren't very comfortable to wear for extended periods of time so im getting the Beyerdynamic DT-770 80 ohm
  8. Either the Beyerdynamic DT-770 80 ohms or the ATH-M50X's. Personally, i like the 770's more because they are much more comfortable
  9. Here is an in depth comparison between all DT models and their respective impedences from Head-Fi http://www.head-fi.org/t/513393/guide-sonic-differences-between-dt770-dt990-models-more I personally would go for the 80 ohm version because of the velour earpads and a straight cable instead of the coiled ones on the other variants.
  10. I am looking for a soundcard recommendation to go with a DAC/Amp combo. I'm currently looking at the Fiio E10k for my DAC/Amp, and will be using ATH-M50's for my headphones. I know they don't need an amp, but I might be going with something like DT770's later on with 250 ohms. When using a DAC/Amp, do you still need a better sound card? If so, what sound cards are good? Budget would be under $100 but prefererably around the $50 range.
  11. I'm looking for recommendatinos for a small form factor mATX case, preferably one that supports a Corsair h105. It would also be nice if it had 5 expansion slots for room between GPU's. Right now i'm looking at the Lian Li PC-V359 but I was wondering if there are others to look at.
