That is something new to me, just enabled it myself and Get-TPM is telling me good things. Thanks for the information.

man, is that ever a loaded statement. AMD is struggling against Intel for far different reasons than their struggle with Nvidia. AMD might not have a high end CPU, but they certainly trade blows with Nvidia, non-stop for years now.

You should read your own news friend. They were not fired. AMD still gets use out of them, without having to pay them. They were transferred over to the joint venture with NFME, and AMD no longer has to pay them.

What a rollercoaster of an OP. Thought you posted something good about AMD for once, then you completely ignore everything else and focus on the 'people leaving' part in your opinion. Wow.
At least you didn't put 'More Bad News For AMD, 1700 People Leaving' as your title. Good job.

Gunjob reacted to Mahigan in AMD Rx 400 series code-name "Arctic-Islands" May only sport HBM 1 and not HBM 2
    Well,

    Let's use Logical deduction.

    There are two rumors:
AMD will get priority over HBM2 shipments AMD is having trouble sourcing HBM2 memory
Why are both of these rumors either patently false or spell disaster for both AMD and nVIDIAs next gen cards? To start, while it is true that AMD holds several patents over HBM2, AMD applied for a JEDEC standard which does not allow for discriminatory behavior. Therefore AMD could not receive priority over the shipments of HBM2 memory as this would count as discriminatory behavior.
For the same reason, if AMD is having issues sourcing HBM2 then so is nVIDIA, because discriminatory behavior is not permitted. This would point to an issue with the production of HBM2 and not an issue with AMD having issues because nVIDIA is sourcing all of the HBM2 (not allowed according to the JEDEC standard).
If nVIDIA attempted this, and Samsung/Hynix gave nVIDIA preferential treatment, then AMD could make a patent claim and apply royalties as well as fines onto nVIDIA/Samsung and Hynix in order to recoup costs (permitted by the JEDEC license due to AMDs patents).

So we're left with this rumor being false, in which case neither AMD or nVIDIA will have issues sourcing HBM2 or this rumor is true and it would make it hard for either of the two to source HBM2 due to some production issues.

Ikr? I mean he has a right to criticize AMD all he wants. But he's grasping at straws trying to find any little thing to criticize them for, even things they have no control over.

As for the Fury and Fury X, they have not changed price in Denmark. However most of them are out of stock.

Yet another @zMeul AMD shitpost. Come on, this is just getting sad. And like always, you just show off your own ignorance.

So many have already stated it, but this is:
Not AMD's fault nor doing. Simple supply and demand. Normal price gouging. A sneaky way of keeping stock, therefore get more traffic and maybe even a sale at high price.

Now on a different note: Someone talked about HBM issues. Not sure that is the cause, as it could very well be yields of the giant Fiji chip instead. However if it IS HBM being an issue, what does that say about next year? Will SK Hynix be able to ramp up production accordingly, and will their yields improve, which is needed for HBM2? Will Samsung really be able to use their 3D NAND SSD technology to make HBM? Or will they have a lot of issues like SKH? Either way, AMD should be good with exclusive first rights to SKH HBM. What about NVidia and HBM?

Of course it does, it would be absolutely stupid to think it wouldn't throttle to maintain a 175watt power target when its a full fat Fiji chip. It has the potential to boost to 1Ghz not maintain it indefinitely.

Guess it depends on your baring, but it seems to me to be a very innovative card. Nothing like it on the market. Fast, small and low TDP

Cons would be no HDMI 2.0 and high cost.

But to think a 4000k shader card would hold a 1GHz clock with the tiny power target and cooler is dumb. And making that an issue is like saying the sky is blue...

Seemed like a good review to me? He had some good things to say about the card but issues he had were coil whine and cost. Otherwise a positive review. I don't see any need for the "Oh dear!" But then I'm never surprised how you paint anything AMD does in a negative light, not that there perfect at all, but if you think that was a negative review than I don't know what you watched.
