fojacko got a reaction from jagdtigger in Microsoft bringing its games on Steam
I'm 99% sure it'll be like uplay, this is Microsoft we're talking about here, you know the guys that forcibly installed windows 10 onto most pc's without asking the users if they want to upgrade.

Of course they're going to force users into using their glorified mobile app store so that they can maximise profits. They'll probably stick the indie titles on steam with a redeemable ms store code and put all the main first party titles (GoW, Halo, forza, etc) on the ms store, so they can get 100% of the profits.

fojacko got a reaction from AlTech in Using a 5 year old PC is really sad according to Apple
Pretty hypocritical, when you consider this is coming from the company not even using the latest cpu technology in their desktop PC's, its not even like the new cpus cost that much more. Just that they can probably buy the older stock for much, much cheaper in bulk so they can make their profit margin higher.

    Dota 2
    TF2
    Warframe
    War thunder
World of tanks/warplanes/warships (havent really played much recently, but when i played wot, i could wreak havoc and all i had was a free 30 day premium code)
Loadout (shame the devs abandoned it)
    LoL
    Smite
    Armoured Warfare
    Unturned
    Path of Exile
    Brawlhalla
    Dirty Bomb
    Planetside 2
Neverwinter (although i think im in the minority of people who like it)
    Ghost Recon Phantoms
    Dungeon Defenders 2...

The list goes on really. If you had made that statement 2 years ago, id agree but free to play games are not the steaming piles of turds they used to be.

When deciding if a game is Pay to win or not, i look to see how much of an advantage you get by paying and how much you would expect to pay. For example when EA's Battlefield Heroes was around, it'd get so much hate for being heavily pay to win, when in reality, if you had the skill, you could easily dominate the enemy team with default items and if you decided you did want to pay, you could spend £12 and you could buy 2 weapons (of unlimited duration) for each class of each faction. So I really disagreed with people calling it pay to win. Games made by Nexon (or any other korean dev for that matter), now thats pay to win...

I'd be willing to bet that they just require you to be a certain level if you wish to buy the car with earned credits and if you want the car early, you can just use the premium currency.

me too. With win7, when i opened the start menu, unless the item was pinned, i would just search for it (easier than clicking all programs and looking for whatever it is you're looking for). So the search bar at the bottom saves me having to open the start menu, hell, i've rarely even used the start menu in windows 10.

If they allow xbone emulation on pc's, i will kiss Microsofts ass so hard. I want to play Forza so bad, but i don't want to drop £330 on a console for a few games.

Also, consoles will still sell. PC's are better that consoles in all aspects but 1. Consoles are infinitly better than pc's if you want a small box that just works, with consoles you can just put it next to your tv, plug it in, insert the game and you're good to go. With PC's, you have drivers, software and hardware to worry about. Consoles just work, that's all there is to it. Microsoft only gain from making xbone games available on pc's, the majority of people will still buy consoles, but the rest of us with pc's will be able to buy Halo, Fable, Sunset Overdrive and Forza, which is good for everyone, especially Microsoft.

Matte is better because light does not reflect off the surface of the monitor

The only thing that would cause 60fps to reduce image quality is if you were trying to run it on outdated components and would have to lower the graphics settings to reach said 60fps...

The drivers aren't optimized for maximum performance, so I think we'll see if that statement remains true in the next month or so.

Either way, the 780 costs quite a bit more (here in the UK, anyway). The 780 is about £310 for the cheapest, and the 970 is £260, for the cheapest.

Still think office being subscription based is fucking stupid. But hey, I have Office 2007 so, idc.

EDIT - Jesus fucking christ. I knew 365 was sub based, but i didn't know it was £8 month (and that's just for the home edition), Netflix is cheaper than Office 365. I though it'd be £5/month max. How they get away with it, i'll never know.

Nexon's F2P strategy: Release decent game, keep it f2p for a year or so, then make it the biggest fucking P2W game in the history of F2P games.

I don't care how badly their servers get screwed up, they're a shady business and they deserve every loss this incident causes them.

10 tweets, all to her. Clearly a troll looking for attention.

To Anita: Well done fucktard, you've given the troll attention. Anyone who's been on the internet for more than a week knows that you don't feed the trolls. If she really did go into hiding because of trolls then she's an idiot AND the trolls got what they wanted, so they'll just keep trolling her harder and harder.

I'm an equalist, so I believe in equal rights for everyone. Feminist makes it sound like they want women to overpower men, which wouldn't really help anything or anyone, they would just end up like all of us misogynistic men (/s). I don't believe Anita is a feminist or an equalist, I believe she is just an attention whore. And well done internet, you've succeeded in giving her the attention she craves.

For me it was SimCity collectors edition. I played it for about 24 hours, it got boring because i filled all of the land in the largest region (all got to skyscraper level). I promptly went back to SimCity 4 and started having more fun. Havent preordered anything since...

I hope maxis/ea make simcity 4 but with improved graphics, include all of the main features from popular mods and dynamic weather, like snow that makes the map/region get all snowy.

To clarify, the "reminders" are being sent to file sharers. At least, that's what i heard when i was listening to the radio.

To add to the discussion, I think they need to do something about the price of digital content, as someone who only watches tv shows and movies once, I'm not going to spend £20 for half the season of adventure time. I use netflix for the shows that are on there, if they aren't i will check amazon/itunes to check the price, if it is ridiculously overpriced (and incomplete in adventure time's case), then ofc i'm going to pirate it, i'm not made of money.

The warnings will help people who legitimately think what they're doing is fine, my cousin streams film, but he insists that it's not illegal, and i cant be assed to argue with him. So an email from BT should put him in his place.

Should've had a Guild Wars 2 style of purchase, buy once, own the game forever.

Subscription based games are irrelevant now, because it just doesn't work any longer, nobody wants to pay to play a game for a month. WoW can get away with it because it's THE mmo that started it all and was released when subscriptions were acceptable. The only styles of purchase that are acceptable anymore are f2p and a straight up purchase.

Yeah, if the company does F2P horribly. There are plenty of F2P games out there that provide the entire contents of a game without even spending 1 cent. MMORPG's are the easiest to make a good f2p model because you can charge for XP/Gold boosts, cosmetic items and remodeled/reskinned mounts, they tend to be the main purchased items in F2P games anyway.

Which is funny because tablets are the one thing that apple make that aren't horribly overpriced. Compared to their phones, laptops and desktops, the tablets are actually priced pretty well (at least here in the uk they are). A tablet of the same quality (sony xperia z2) is £60 more expensive on amazon compared to the ipad air.
