So a BT speaker is a far superior option to the "dock" thing he wants, such as this? Image for example just..

He has my iPhone 6. Do bluetooth speakers work with bootleg free "internet radio" apps however? I never tried or done anything so can't comment. For some reason he is wanting some dock thing - not sure why not bluetooth and whether that works or only amplifies music from legitimate apps aka Spotify?

Hi guys. I am on a mission to get a mid-range phone speaker dock thing for my father for his birthday. His use case is; listening to radio from an app on his phone. He wants to get something that can amplify this without any cords, so a wireless device that can be charged or run on batteries. Nothing too crazy - max 40-50 GBP / Euros really. I am not very skilled in this area - any suggestions that could be good from Amazon or anything would be very welcomed and extremely appreciated. He'd set his phone in it and then whatever is being played is coming out from the speakers of the dock / device instead is the jist of it. Could BT speakers do the same? I never tried.

Hah. Yea, but it’s not like it’s coming out of my pocket and just to remove and re insert the cables doesn’t seem like much of a task! I might check the plug option if this comes back again. however as you heard and seen on the footage the noise came from the other end / corner of the PSU not the plug side at all!

Hmm, seems like the consensus. It was flawless today, no noise at all.. weird events to be honest. I’ll maybe keep an eye out and if it pops up again then just immediately get a new PSU. I think.. unless it’s a fire hazard now lol. But not sure if anyone would know that!

Anyone any further ideas? Please help a homie out.

Appreciate the response - Regarding the replacement. I have 2 year of parts warranty so they can do it. Unhooking the PSU and te-plugging the cables into it probably isn’t a crazy task so I am considering going that path! unfortunately no, don’t have another cable. This one came with the build so it’s only a year old as well, replaced my other one which was 5 years old when upgraded. I don’t think it’s the wiggle, it’s always been like this, but I can try to keep an eye out. I did try to push the cable in as much as possible but it did nothing for the noise. The noise however does only appear at random times (today onwards) when the system is under power, so it’s not a fan I think.

Any experts - please chop in. I’m thinking stuff like.. will this thing set on fire or can I not even use the PC or is this not THAT serious but still should replace etc..

Hi all. this morning when I turned on my PC a weird noise welcomed me. It was quite scary so I turned it off and let it rest, it then went away and it stayed away for now. definitely came from the PSU - can anyone offer guidance? All is in warranty however a return to base with my system builder (SCAN UK) is like a 15 working day trip so that’s just a bit much. should I be worried and take action immediately or what’s your suggestions? I attach the recording - don’t get too spooked! once the power cord is removed the noise stops altogether, however if re attached it makes a subtle noise, same you hear whilst running just much quieter but still.. strange. It’s a thermal take one - 80 plus gold, not sure about model top of my head so it’s not a horrible one in theory.

Sorry - by kettle plug I mean the big plug on the video. The power cord to the PC.

It came on again. I turn off the PC or put it to sleep and kind of stops and quietens down (duh!) but there’s still a noise made. It’s just quieter - so the fan is off and everything is at a standstill but it’s still buzzing away.. After shutdown it takes a minute for that noise to stop completely. But fire it up right away and it’s back.

Still trying to get a picture of the screen when it goes darker on my phone, so that can reflect the difference.

It is off, has been since I got it. Hence why I think maybe it's a cable - but not too sure. I'd like to hope it's not the GPU or the monitor itself.. confused.

That is what I am wondering. Let's say.. if my GPU was messing up (should not be) - if the screen displays something weird temporarily and I hit PRT SCREEN on that weird thing, then I would have captured it and be able to see it - right? The fact that this time PRT SCREEN showed the normal view, not the temporary darker view is what I am trying to find out what it meant.

It's an Odyssey G7, less than a year old. But I am not sure what the issue can be. The entire system is less than 1 year old. GPU is a EVGA 3080 ULTRA FTW3, using DP cable from GPU to monitor. What was weird is that when it turns darker, it seems to do it only during browsing or something, never noticed it in a game. And when I wanted to take a print screen to be able to show you know.. "This is Pic 1 when it darkens, this is Pic 2 during normal times" they were both the same, so print screen did not recognise the shift. It's a pretty well, minor issue that arises rarely, just not sure what it could be.

Hi all.. This might be a shot in the dark, but recently I noticed that when the screen is just idling on Chrome or general things like that, it sometimes appears like I turned the brightness down or the contrast down. Becomes very dark (NOT BLACK) just a very dark shade really. Stays for a second or two then returns to normal. It happens rarely. I tried to hit print screen to display / capture the issue but on the screenshot it appears normal, like the display was never darkened down or altered at all. Do you guys have any ideas? It's not a game breaking issue, just would be good to know what might cause it.

Every LCD has backlight bleed issues. Every IPS has IPS glow which appears the same as that. You'll get better or worse, but you will ALWAYS find "backlight bleed" issues no matter where you go with LCD - so just gotta accept it.

Check this topic for your determined answer; Mine is along the lines of this.. So is yours a bit worse? Maybe. Does it bother you or can you notice? That's up to you to decide. As far as I know and seen, you'll not get a perfectly black, uniform output from the G7. It's the monitor's only pitfall and drawback.
