    1st letter or digit = plant code (Malay)
    0 = San Jose, Costa Rica
    1 = Cavite, Philippines
    3 = .............., Costa Rica
    6 = Chandler, Arizona
    7 = .........., Philippines
    8 = Leixlip, Ireland
    9 = Penang, Malaysia
    L = ............, Malaysia
    Q = ..........., Malaysia
    R = Manila, Philippines
    Y = Leixlip, Ireland

    2nd digit = Year of production (2014)

    3rd & 4th digits = week (19th week )

    5th - 8th digits= lot number

    10th - 13th digits = serialization code

    honestly the only benefit you might notice is the extended warranty on blacks  (if they still do that)

    Reds are for 24/7 NAS or small server Ops
    Greens are for long term storage since they are oriented towards power saving
    blues are for your everyday use
    blacks are like blues but slightly faster
    purples are for 24/7 Surveillance systems

    Swap the board for something cheaper such as the Z97-AR and invest that extra money into a R9 290 or a GTX780.
     
    Star citizen is mantle right? Would make more sense with 290 or even 290x.

    A 500w PSU is plenty, and you don't need a high end motherboard to play games, a simple $100-200 one will work more than fine.
     
    If you want red/black, the hero is a better option IMO.

    And your qualified answer helps with what again in this thread? Don´t get me wrong if the price you paid makes you happy this is a good thing I guess.
     
    RAM prices are higher than they used to be in 2013 due to the fact of that big fire that burned down a whole facility and that they reduced the production.
