I've just picked up my 3x 4790ks for our triple build, looking at the packaging I have noticed one of them has a different batch number compared to the other two, I'm wondering if there is a way of finding out which chip MAY perform better just going on batch number alone? (without even unboxing it) Batch#: 2x L419B574 1x L420B877

I know, I know, I know... I shouldnt even be buying the retail version of the 4790k but its the same price as the tray version! Fortunately this has an added benefit, the NZXT Kraken X61 I originally wanted to use is not yet released in the EU (hopefully end September) so until then the only option I have without spending more of my budget money is using the Intel stock heatsink and fan, of course I wont be OCing or doing anything extreme until the X61 is fitted, but my question is is this risky to use even temporarily for gaming/light testing whilst I wait? I'm struggling to find reviews of stock coolers on top tier CPU's (no wonder really) so any information would be appreciated!

Looking at buying a few WD Black 2TB as I'm running OS from main SSD and want a larger capacity sotrage, but am wondering if the Black version are actually worth buying as the specs do seem alot similar compared to the Green and Red versions... or am i missing something here?

I've been attempting to find a supplier of the NZXT Kraken X61 in Belgium (or surrounding EU countries that would ship to BE) as I wish to purchase 3 for my upcoming triple build, but with no luck as so far it seems my only option is to purchase from the US with an extra 150 Euro of shipping and Taxes!!! Would anyone know of a supplier in BE or EU or even one that does ship to Belgium at a more reasonable price?

Yea I also cant seem to find the list of resellers. If you read the FAQ on the site you MUST have a redeemable coupon/code that is from the supplier of the card (Not redeemable via AMD) I wouldnt mind spending even 50 Euro more per card if I know I could get this offer...

Yea I was initially surprised as the price difference also, losing £9 across all 3 machines is negligible even with very minor gains.

The motherboard supports it and the 1600mhz kit is £141 whereas the 2400mhz is £144. Would there be any particular reason not to go for the 2400mhz?

Why the MSI Z97S over the Sabertooth Mark 1? The only extra feature I see is the M.2 connection?

I do like the Blue/Black theme kept up here, however as I did state in the original post I wont be requiring storage so would rather put that money into other features.

Fallen in love with the Phantek Enthoo Primo, and am considering an NZXT Kraken X61, however will this fit in the top mounting? NZXT Kraken X61: 140 x 140 x 25mm (280?) Phantek Enthoo Primo Top: Upto 480 I do find these numbers a little confusing, but does this mean the X61 will fit with plenty of space to spare or is this 480 after a lot of internals have been removed (always dubious when I see "upto" in the sentence) Thanks in advance!

Im currently in the process of building 3 identical machines for my girlfriend, her brother and myself. Typically I always name my machine something geeky for network purposes, however I think in this instance I want to name all three but have yet to come up with something either clever or witty... ...any suggestions? No I wont be doing video editing, however some games will be taxing RAM wise, Star Citizen is being based on a minimum requirement of 8GB of RAM (Currently) and looking at the same G.Skill Ripjaw X but in 2x4GB Modules is exactly half the price with a saving of only £60... should I go for faster RAM?

After some original help from my first list, I have rework the setup: 1. Budget & Location - £1300 - Belgium (But using UK prices as partpicker isnt showing alot of parts for EU) 2. Aim - Gaming (Star Citizen is the goal) 3. Monitor - 1 @1080p 4. Peripherals - Yes but future purchases (HOTASS etc...) I will require alot of connectivity 5. Our machines are 5 years old, we treat them well and they have never let us down... until recently. New rigs are a must for future gaming. Note: This build is for 3 identical machines, with a few minor exceptions. We will be re-using one case from the original machine (NZXT Phantom) and re-using some storage, essentially though this 'single' list will be the template for all 3 rigs. Again feel very free to criticise any of the choices!
