  1. Just received an auto-notification from Newegg as well. They are taking back orders so I just ordered one. Can't wait!
  2. It looks like the right one but if you don't feel comfortable, go to Newegg and order one right now. They are accepting back orders so once they get it in inventory, they'll start shipping away from the order received. I just ordered one right now. Bye bye $900.
  3. Honestly, AW isn't too bad with their laptop line ups. I'm a long time fan of AW. So far I had M15x, M17x, M17xR2 and M18xR2. I never had much issue with their laptops except for M18xR2 after 2.5 years of use when one of the GPU died. Thankfully, AW has next day service which they replaced my one of my 7970m and I was good to go. A lot of people are saying it's overpriced and while I do agree, it's possible to get decent discount if you give them a call. I usually give them a call and they give me roughly 10-25% discount, depending on the sale representative. Once those discount is applied, the prices are pretty competitive against other manufacturers. Out of curiosity, I did give them a call when I was building my current set up to see what they can offer me in terms of desktop. They offered me everything that I wanted with 2 GTX 780 in SLI with 20% discount but I wanted to choose my components so I declined that time. Seriously, just give them a chance and a call. You might get some decent deals.
  4. Just get an i7 4790k and be done with it. I can stream at 1080p / 60 FPS at 3000 bit rate with no lag at any time. As long as your internet speed (mine is 300/20) can support it, you should be fine.
  5. I used both Razer Mamba and Logitech G502 for CS:GO. I've reached to SMFC on both mice. Doesn't really change much IMO. Initial feels might be different but once you get used to it, it's all the same.
  6. Yeah I noticed that when my friends and I got vsed with Silvers.. Matchmaking system is broken to some degree. If you really want to improve, just make some friends that are higher rank than you. It might be seen as you are getting "carried" but it's the easiest way to rank up and you'll learn a lot.
  7. I don't understand why people are so impatient(?) to get to a higher rank. Is it for bragging rights? Also, winning matches x amount of time in a row doesn't prove anything. What are the opponents rank? I played with 3 of my SMFC (4 including myself) and got placed against 3 Silvers, 1 LEM, & 1 unranked. Enjoy the rank you are at and enjoy the game. Once you get to LEM,SMFC, & Global, you'll get placed with hackers 50% of the time. I gave up on VAC security and bought ESEA.
  8. Give AW Sales Department a call. When I bought my M18xR2, I went through couple representatives and found someone that was willing to give me 20% discount on the configuration I wanted. Not all representatives will work with you so give some calls and you'll find someone willing to give you some discount.
  9. From what I've seen/experienced so far (Ranked at Supreme Master 1st Class), it doesn't matter how many wins you have or whether you are finishing top 1, 2 or 3. You just need to be on a winning streak playing against slightly higher leveled opponents. Of course, the easiest way to rank up would be have someone much higher ranked than you to carry but what's the fun in that? Plus once you get to LEM/Supreme/Global, you'll see so many hackers, it ruins all the fun anyways.
  10. Forgot to quote you. And the location of the config file is here (Not completely sure since I'm currently at work but should be here somewhere) "<Steam Install Location>\Steam\steamapps\common\Counter-Strike Global Offensive\csgo\cfg" Open the file with notepad and you'll see bunch of settings listed.
  11. Change your voice_mixer_volume to 0.3 (30%) in your config file. Whenever your CS:GO is launched, your computer is reading the config file where voice_mixer_volume is set at default of 1 (100%). Once you change that in your config file, it will not change your microphone volume anymore. EDIT: Also it applies to alot of the games that has its own config file.
  12. Not exactly sure how 970 will do but my 4790k/GTX 980 with stock setting on both gets about average 80+ FPS (Usually ranges from 60 to 120 outside) with everything high except for AO & HBAO off. Distance is set at default (half way on the bar). It did dip into the 40s on certain areas but other than that, the game is pretty smooth running on 144 hz monitor. It might be smoother if I played single player but I've been playing with 3 other friends so that might impact the FPS a bit further down.
  13. Alienware isn't all that bad as people claim them to be. I had a long journey with Dell/AW product since Dell XPS M1730. I really got into AW when they released M17xR1. Price is intimidating at first but once you find out you can actually haggle the price down over the phone. It wasn't far off from other gaming laptops. My M17xR2 which was priced at $3000 before tax was brought down to $2250 before tax. I extended my warranty later down the road and a month before it expired, the laptop died on me. Dell service experience is inbetween good and bad. It did take them about a month to fix the problem (3 MB replaced and 2 GPU replaced), but it was fixed by replacing my broken M17xR2 (i7 820QM, 5870m in XFire, etc) to M18xR2 (i7 3630QM, 7970 in XFire, etc) for no extra cost. I also got a free Razer Mamba from them too for the trouble. All in all, I had a good experience with Dell and I was actually going to buy a desktop from them as well because they offered me about 25% discount until I realized I couldn't choose what brand I could get for MB/PSU/GPU/etc.
  14. Roughly 30-37.5 MB/s. Paying for 300 down / 20 up.
  15. Sorry about the previous post. I made a mistake. I meant to change the aspect ratio from 16:9 to Screen Fit or something similar to it. I just got home and double checked.
  16. I also had this problem and I fixed it by changing the aspect ratio (I believe it was set to auto and I changed it to 16:9) of the 2nd monitor. Do not change it through the NVIDIA/AMD setting. Do it manually through the monitor itself.
  17. Crysis Warhead takes into Psycho's perspective in Crysis 1. I just recently finished Crysis 3 along with 1 and 2. I gotta say Crysis 1 is still my favorite. Crysis 2 and 3 felt a bit too linear. However, Crysis 3 is beautiful in terms of graphics.
  18. Unfortunately, I am at work so I'll try that once I get home but I believe I tripled checked all settings but I can be wrong. Thanks for the quick reply.
  19. Hey guys, I just received my GTX 980 ACX 2.0 through Step Up Program from my GTX 780 Ti Classified ACX and is having an issue with scaling for my 2nd monitor. My primary monitor (BenQ) scales correctly at 1920 x 1080 but my 2nd monitor (Samsung) goes out of the screen when its on the same 1920 x 1080. For example, if I full screen Google Chrome, the tab of the website names above the address bar goes out of the borderlines of my screen and I can't see. Same thing applies to both sides and bottom. It's like my GPU is trying to over scale 1920 x 1080. I checked all my display properties and NVIDIA control panel and everything is where it should be. The only way to fix the problem is to manually set the display at 1600 x 900 (same aspect ratio) but the letters become blurry since it's not native resolution. This was not an issue with my GTX 780 Ti. On the offside, I'm very happy with the GTX 980. I was able to overclock to 1500 / 8000 with no problem on stock voltage. Max temperature is only at 64C with a fan spinning at 55%. Thanks in advance.
  20. Are you using 14.9? Try 14.9 Beta. My AW M18xR2 with 2x7970m had similar issue yesterday where it would just hang in the middle of installation and would never complete fully. I tried 14.9 Beta and everything went through nicely.
  21. That is one thing I was concerned with. However, I think it's better to have less access to fresh air compared to less access to fresh air AND have hot air dumped into the first card.
  22. Bottom ACX card will dump hot air into the top ACX card resulting a higher temperature on the first card. Can't get 2 reference card as Step Up Program only provided ACX 2.0 for me.
  23. So I was planning to SLI my GTX 980 but via Step Up Program, I was only able to get the ACX version. Since SLI configuration with 2 ACX cards will heat up the first card, is it possible to go into SLI configuration with ACX and a reference card? I was thinking of putting the ACX on the top since it releases hot air upwards and reference at the bottom. Thanks.
  24. I have already submitted my Step Up a while ago. It's still in process so.. The only thing I want to change is that I would love to get the reference version so I can go SLI route but it wasn't available (Only the ACX version is available for GTX 980). Either way I think it's been close to a month now and it's still in "pending" mode.
