  1. I'm currently running (AIDA64) 4790k at 4.2 Ghz at 1.15V with max temperature of 61-63C across all 4 cores using Kraken X61. During GTA 5 session, it only goes up to maybe 52C-ish.
  2. Spec under signature. Everything maxed out except for AA is turned off and Shadow is at Soft. At 1440P, I'm getting about ~60-70ish average. I believe it is very optimized as I don't have any problems running it. If I go into the grass heavy area, my FPS does take some dips into the 50s but G-SYNC takes care of that.
  3. I'm pretty sure a lot of people are aware of this issue. I saw the reviews on Newegg and it seems like roughly 1/3 are having issues with severe backlight bleed and/or dead pixels. Thankfully, I have minimal backlight bleed on bottom right and no dead pixels so it's a keeper.
  4. What a logic. I should return my XB270HU and go back to 30 Hz TV as my monitor. In all seriousness, difference between 60 Hz and 144 Hz is quite noticeable. Also, who cares if people spend their own money on their own parts? I worked hard to get my Mechanical Engineering degree to earn a decent salary to afford all my toys. I'm actually thinking about picking up another GTX 980 to run GTA 5 even smoother because my eyes tell me anything less than 144 Hz is "not smooth" lol.
  5. XB270HU is a 1440P monitor not 1080P. I would get XB270HU due to IPS and also because I have one.
  6. i7 4790K + GTX 980 + Everything maxed except AA off + 1440P = 60-70 FPS. With AA at 8x = 18-30ish FPS.
  7. Another vote to Kraken X61 as I just bought one 2 days ago. i7 4790K, slight OC at 4.2 Ghz at 1.15V. During AIDA61 test, max temperature across all 4 cores are about 58-61C.
  8. $200? I thought the difference was $100? GTX 980 ACX 2.0 is $550 whereas the Hybrid is $650. If I could start over then I would get the Hybrid. It has the same OC as Classified level as well as AIO water cooler. Of course, if money wasn't an issue.
  9. Thank you for the reply and your thread. I'll take a look!
  10. Good morning LLT, I have couple questions on OC'ing my CPU as my Kraken x61 is coming in today. First thing that I did, of course, was watching LLT's video on how to OC 4790k. Though I understood most of it, I do have one question about the voltage setting that I believe Linus did not cover (he did say put it back to adaptive but did not go into detail after). Question - I did a short AIDA64 test last night and found out that all 4 cores were running at 4.2 Ghz (I believe it OC'd a little through the motherboard) at 1.15V (Not sure why the voltage is so low?). Let's say that I did find my sweet OC setting at 4.7 Ghz at 1.3V and now I have to change the voltage setting back to adaptive. Do I set a limit of +0.15 since the baseline maxed out at 1.15V and I don't want the system to go above 1.3V? A bit more detail would be appreciated. Thank you.
  11. Actually, he has 1 780 Ti Dual Classified. Correct me if I'm wrong but it's named Dual due to the 2 Bios settings it has. I'm not completely sure as I only kept my 780 Ti Dual Classified for about ~5 months before my 980 arrived. His FPS is where it should be. My 980 got about ~80 FPS on 1440P with max AA on BF4.
  12. It's actually pretty easy to get unbanned. I did play WoW for a while back in BC era and quit until WOTLK came out. When I tried to log in, it said I was banned so I just called up the support line and I was unbanned within minutes. They also gave me extra gold (~3k) for the trouble.
  13. I did not. I stayed roughly ~90 FPS at all time. My internet is 300/20 if that helps.
  14. I streamed Dying Light when it first came out. I'm using OBS with 1080p / 60 FPS at 3000 bit rate. I ran it flawlessly with no problem. I had my friends view the stream as well and they said no problem as well. I can try again when I get home today if you would like.
  15. If you want to take advantage of 144 Hz at 1440P, you probably will require 2x 980 sometime down the road on max setting. I currently have GTX 980 + Acer XB270HU and played some BF4 with max setting and got about ~60-70 FPS. If I were to turn off the AA then FPS jumps back up to ~90ish. I'm thinking about adding a 2nd GTX 980 very soon.
  16. For those who already have a working product, can you guys share what setting you guys are using? I'm using Gamma 2.5, User setting (50,50,55), Brightness at 35 and Contrast at 40.
  17. I just received and set the monitor up. It's so beautiful. No dead pixel and no backlight bleed. Quick question though, is there an easier way to turn on/off GSYNC? A bit of a hassle to go back and forth into the NVIDIA Control Panel.
  18. I hope mine will be perfect like yours. It's out for shipping now so I should have it in few hours.
  19. Try changing aspect ratio on the monitor itself. It fixed my issue with scaling as well but I have nVidia so..
  20. Because it's so damn popular. Lucky for me, when Newegg was taking back order, I ordered one ASAP. Now Newegg is in packaging stage so I should have mine soon. You can check Amazon for 3rd party retailer. I checked yesterday and there were a few on sale. However, they might charge you a bit more.
  21. The problem is I did try OCing the one I currently have to about ~1400 Mhz and while it passed the Heaven benchmark, I crashed during game plays. So I lowered to about ~1350 Mhz and it runs pretty well. Is there a performance hit if the FTW downclocks itself to match the non-FTW version?
  22. Good morning LTT community, Quick question, is it worth SLI-ing GTX 980 ACX 2.0 (1216 Mhz) with GTX 980 FTW ACX 2.0 (1380 Mhz)? I know FTW will downclock itself to match the first one if I don't OC it. Or should I save $20 and just get another non-FTW version to get a matching set? Oh and I'm going to need another card regardless, I just ordered XB270HU! Thanks.
  23. Personally I would go with GTX 980x2 for 1080p / 1440p at 144 HZ. If you are into 4K gaming then, I would go with Titan X.
  24. Is the code for ACER website or for Newegg as well? I just ordered mine yesterday through Newegg and was wondering if I can just give them a quick call and see if they can honor the code. Saving is saving right?
