  1. You can buy it from the distributor so that in case you need to RMA you can contact them.
  2. I am really sorry to hear about the issue with the external drive. Unfortunately there is always a chance that a hard drive may fail, that is why it is highly recommendable to backup your data. The WD Red line has a 3-year warranty, which, I hope, you will not need to use in case you decide to go for this drive. This is the official WD distributor in Mauritius: http://www.wdc.com/en/buy/distributors/default.aspx?dname=&region=1&subrgn=141#sr141 Hope this helps. Dorian_WD
  3. Hi there, I would also recommend the WD Red which are specifically designed for RAID environments. These drives have the TLER feature, which prevents the hard drives from being dropped off the array due to extended error recovery. This way you will experience less down time rebuilding the RAID. You can find some more info about the HDDs here: http://www.wdc.com/en/products/products.aspx?id=810 Hope this helps. Cheers, Dorian_WD
  4. Hi there, as the other forum members already mentioned, the WD Blue drive has a maximum capacity of 1 TB. As for the other two drives you are considering - the WD Green is more suitable for a secondary storage, while the WD Black is specifically designed for gaming - it spins at 7200 RPM and has larger cache (64 MB), which will reduce the load times. It also comes with a 5-year warranty. Hope this helps. Cheers, Dorian_WD
  5. Hi there, the hard drive you have posted a link to, is, as already explained by the other forum members, an enterprise drive from the old series. The difference between consumer and enterprise HDDs is that the latter have features which lower the rate of unrecoverable data errors on the drive. In your case, you could choose from the consumer series. The WD Blue is a suitable option for a normal everyday use of a PC. If you will be using it mainly for gaming or photo/video editing, then the WD Black is the one for you. It also comes with a 5-year warranty. I hope this helps. Cheers, Dorian_WD
  6. Hey there, the WD Elements is a very good, simple and reliable storage solution. Have you also considered buying a 4 TB external drive, on which you will be able to store most of the data you have stored on the external drives you currently use? I could suggest you to check the My Book, which supports a capacity of up to 6 TB. It also comes with the automatic backup software WD SmartWare Pro as well as Acronis True Image. You could also take advantage of its password protection and hardware encryption. In case you want to find more information about it you can check it here: http://www.wdc.com/en/products/products.aspx?id=870 I hope this helps. Cheers, Dorian_WD
  7. Hey there, if you will be using the rig primarily for gaming then you could get the Intel Core i5-4690K. The i7-4790K is more suitable in case you will be doing some graphics/video editing, rendering, etc. As for the hard drive, you could take a look at the WD Black HDD which is specifically designed for gaming. It has 64 MB cache which will reduce the load times and comes with a 5-year warranty. You can check it here: http://www.wdc.com/en/products/products.aspx?id=760 Hope this helps. Cheers, Dorian_WD
  8. Hey there, sorry to hear about your issue. I would suggest that you update your BIOS, Graphics and Chipset driver. This should solve your issue. Give it a try and keep us posted Cheers, Dorian_WD
  9. Hey there, I am sorry to hear about your issue. I would suggest that you check the cabling once again - the HDD's power cable and the SATA cable. Another thing you could do is check what HDD mode is activated in the BIOS. In storage configuration menu in the BIOS make sure the SATA drive is not set to IDE but to AHCI. Hope this helps. Cheers, Dorian_WD
  10. Hey there, I am sorry to hear about your issue. What I would suggest is to check the SATA cables, because the motherboard might have issues detecting the hard drive. You can disconnect them from the HDD and the motherboard as well as the power from the HDD and plug them back in. You can also try plugging the SATA cable into a different port on the motherboard. Another thing you could do is run Data Lifeguard Diagnostics to check if everything is fine with the hard drive itself. Below you can find a link to the WD website where you can download the software. http://support.wdc.com/product/download.asp?groupid=810&sid=3〈=en Hope this helps. Cheers, Dorian_WD

  21. Yes, these are some of the features which, though, can be used for external drives.
  22. Hey there, regarding the SmartWare software, it can be used to backup your information from internal to external drive, so if you don't have an external HDD you don't really need it Cheers, Dorian_WD
  23. Yes, this combination would be faster but will still require two slots Cheers, Dorian_WD
  24. @SnowGhost1212 No, it doesn't. It pairs 120GB of solid state storage with a 1TB hard disk in a single 2.5” drive. It rather operates as two independent drives - a fast SSD for your OS and most commonly used apps and a large hard drive for bulk storage. Cheers, Dorian_WD
  25. Hi there, I saw that you want an SSD of about 120 GB for the OS, Anti-virus etc., as well as an HDD.
