  1. Hi there Disillumination, If you want to store your games( local backup), I would totally agree with That Norwegian Guy and say that the WD Green will be a good fit. It runs cool and quiet, which results in an increased lifespan. Cheers, D_Know_WD
  2. Hi there Maraio 1, The WD Black is generally considered to be more reliable than the WD Blue as it has 5 years of limited warranty. As you want to “Futureproof” yourself, you may want to take that into consideration. Cheers, D_Know_WD
  3. Hi there HEAD OF LEAD, I would say that WD Blue will fit your needs better. The WD Green is power efficient features and it is designed to be used as a secondary storage. If you get an SSD it should be fine though. You could also check out the WD Black which is considered to be a premium product, specifically designed for gaming. 4. Hello there NeilFX, Just keep in mind that if you plan to use your computer as a sharing device, it should be always on and working. This will put more pressure on the drives, no matter whether you get 2x1TB or 1x2TB WD Blues. Furthermore, these are not NAS specific drives and are not designed for 24/7 activity. Just because of these reasons, I think that the My Cloud will fit your purposes better. It is streaming no matter whether the PC is on or off. Also, it comes with a Red drive which is generally more reliable for NAS environments. In case you decide to go with the WD My Cloud, I would suggest you to just set some scheduled back ups to your PC and thus keep your data safe. Hope this clarified the things a bit, D_Know_WD
  5. Hi there ghost47killer, Do you face any specific problems with the HDD or you wonder whether it will do the job? In my opinion, the WD Blue will most probably fit your purposes. Though, it is not specifically designed for constant video streaming. You may want to check out the WD AV line as it is most suitable for media servers as in your case. It offers greater storage capacity and 24x7 reliability. http://wdc.com/en/products/products.aspx?id=170 I hope this clarified a bit your storage questions, D_Know_WD
