  1. For one reason or another, I was recommended to view it a while ago and had it downloaded. I watched though it because I am in the process of clearing out the downloads to see what to keep and what to prohibit from taking any more space on my hard drive.
  2. I'm going to have to vote for Little Witch Academia. Which is a great short. I have no interest in watching any boorish shock-factor gore-fests.
  3. I have finished the following: Cencoroll: Unique one-off about monsters with powers and the humans connected to them. A worthwhile use of your time. Kodomo no Jikan: Loli-bait. Boring characters. Skip it. The Pet Girl of Sakurasou: Pretty bog-standard romantic comedy with a bit of drama. Has a few standout characters. Take it or leave it. Chuunibyou demo Koi ga Shitai! Ren: The first season was cute enough at the time but the second season is nothing new. Very little development as well. Skip it.
  4. I figured it was better to be concise rather than spend literal days writing, revising and correcting something more long form as I tend to do.
  5. I finished the following: The Garden of Words: Probably the most visually stunning piece of animation you are ever likely too see and the characters are great. Watch it. Seitokai Yakuindomo: Raunchy humor and little else. Skip it. My Little Monster: Mediocre romantic comedy. Watch something better. Gunbuster: I can certainly see why it is a classic. Detailed animation and good characters. Science that seems comparatively plausible as well. Watch it. Yuri Seijin Naoko-san: Wierd comedy. Pretty enjoyable. Take it or leave it.
  6. It is the bog standard "gamer" aesthetic. Black and red with aggressive angles. It really is not anything to write home about. Asus ROG does that better.
  7. Interesting. I could not progress past ten thousand. This type of puzzle, or at least this variant, does not play to my strengths.
  8. I know of them and I am planning on watching them next.
  9. I finished JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders. I have been clued in on many in-jokes I previously did not get. I don't really have that much to say about it. You get what you expect. An abundance of supremely manly things. I quite liked it. A couple of things of particular note: When someone gets punched with extreme force, you feel it. The sound effects and visuals really convey damage in the most visceral way possible. The art-style is as far as I know, wholly unique. You will never mistake this show for any other copy paste generic anime. Death has permanence.
  10. The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask 3D The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds
  11. I never watched the original Ghost in the Shell movie despite being a huge fan of Standalone Complex and hearing nothing but fantastic things. That must obviously be rectified.
  12. As a show it is an amateur effort at best. The only even slightly redeeming quality is it's over the top battle scenes.
  13. If my intention was to try and win over an obvious troll you would have been right. I just seized the opportunity to spend some time honing my reviewing prowess. It obviously still leaves much to be desired. And yet, going into something looking seriously for the good and the bad and writing down notes was a valuable experience in the end. It also doesn't hurt to get to lay down the smack on some fools every now and again.
  14. Literally every anime ever made has a better somber theme than that. So generic. I can even restrict it to sad themes from long running shounen and I can still come up with multiple better choices than that: That is mostly the case with the rest of the soundtrack as well. And before you claim ignorance on me. This post took four days to make because I listened to every track in the Fairy Tail soundtrack twice and watched the entire anime for context. I was far more thorough than your shitpost deserved. But now you do not have any excuses to use. Music breakdown: It is a gratuitously repetitive and generic soundtrack with very few worthwhile pieces of music. It mostly consists of variations of similar songs. Malicious overuse of cruddy hard rock and instruments from Celtic folk music galore. These tracks are the only good ones, among them, a somber theme that is superior to the one you provided as the example why Fairy Tail is superior: That is 5/165 tracks. Pretty shabby. Now then, since I went through the trouble of watching the anime, jotting down notes all the while, I might as well inform you as to why it is also nothing special: Anime Breakdown: Progression: The plot is all over the place. Jumping from one shitty arc to the next with no proper foreshadowing to speak of and it mostly consists of beating the bad guy if the week. Legal guilds, dark guilds, the magic council, demons, old friends and whatever else. They all come crawling out of the woodwork one after another to be the next shitheel in line. And that damn time skip, what a ball of complete bullshit. Visuals: Old series is poorly animated. New series is nothing special, but leagues better and at the very least passable. General animations are generic. Battle animations are gaudy, impact-less fluff for the most part. And are ridiculously overused. Character design is all over the map. Most of the main cast and main villains are designed well enough, but most side characters look ridiculous. Audio: Voice acting is mediocre for the most part with a few standouts. Sound effects are seriously weak. It drastically diminishes the impact of every fight. Music is mostly repetitive trash, with very few exceptions. Characters: One note characters that never develop or learn anything. They are merely exposited about when it is convenient to the plot. Natsu is an arrogant dolt. He never changes from the very start. His catchphrases are lame and his attack style is the same every time. Erza is the serious type. Never changes Lucy is boring and clueless. Never changes. Wendy is loli bait. Never changes. Gray is the rival character. Almost as thickheaded as Natsu. Never changes. Gajeel is another rival character. Never changes. See a pattern? The only character I actually like is Happy. Not that he is any more developed than the others, but he is a legitimately funny character most of the time. Atmosphere: Boring. It never feels like anything important is at stake since it is even more obvious than usual that the hero will win the day with the power of friendship. Not helped by the tame but constant fan-service and cringe-worthy humor. Other nitpicks: Stomped by a villain? Out of magic power for the third time in this fight? Never fear, nakama power is here for you. Just have a sob-story/tear-jerker flashback and suddenly you can beat any bad guy. Powers are gained without any of the sacrifices or training usually required. Lame speeches from villains and heroes alike. Overall impression: It is a "Me too" show, trying to do what other shows have done better ten years before. Verdict: 3/10 or "Bad" Re-watch: Never Manga breakdown: (I read that too by the way. I am kind of thorough that way) Same shit different medium. The fact that it is a little bit further along changes little. All anime breakdown points stand. Verdict: Identical to anime.
  15. That is fine. Based on the wiki, the term seems applicable to an extent. And in the end, fictional characters do not exist and it is not harmful. Do remember though, for the sake of accuracy if anything, androgynous appearance may induce flawed assumptions, but ultimately that is a failure of your perception rather than an obfuscation of the truth. Hence why someone like Saika Totsuka is not a trap since it is made clear that he is male from the start.
  16. The word itself holds a definition of “A stratagem for catching or tricking an unwary person.“. As a term for a person, it suggests that the person in question is trying to entrap/ensnare a person with the opposite sexual attraction. To an androgynous person or a transgender person, it is certainly not pleasant to have implications of that nature levied upon them. Unwittingly or not. I can speak personally to the transgender experience and I can tell you that I have absolutely no inclination to deceive. It would be quite ironic, seeing as how the whole ordeal is about being true to yourself in the first place. It would be one thing if it was applied to fictional characters only, but reality is never quite that simple. It has been and is used to describe real transgender and androgynous people negatively. I am not saying that you should censor or moderate yourself if you do not feel like it. I would simply ask that you consider if you will, that the term might mean more than you intend.
  17. Please refrain from using "trap" as a descriptor. More often than not, it is inaccurate. It is also quite insensitive in it's implications when misapplied.
  18. Pajama pants Baggy t-shirt Bathrobe variant Socks Underwear Slippers Sleeping mask
  19. That is fine. Sometimes I just feel a little confrontational and need to get it out of my system. Please do not take it the wrong way. Though I disagree with your assessment, I don't begrudge you your opinions.
