  1. Schiit MODI+MAGNI will definitely be a improvement
  2. Here is my setup ATH M40X-FIIO E11(to be upgraded)+Schiit MODI+RCA TO 3.5 MM M AUDIO BX5 D2-SCHIIT MODI+HOSA QUARTER INCH CABLE This setup has finaly ended my 5 year long audio search.
  3. I would advice you to go for Micca MB42X+topping tp 20,it may go beyond your budget but you will get a similar sound of speakers double the price with this setup.Logitech z623 for 2.1,not that i would buy a 2.1
  4. Yes you need a DAC if you want to get full performance of m50x,i am using a Schiit modi DAC connected to fiio E11 amplifier at the moment. It was first connected as a temporary solution but the sound quality is so good that i decided not to buy a seperate high performance amp to use it with DAC.
  5. If you are aware of dolby atmos technology that is currently used in movie theaters is now supported in some of av recievers. So i would advise you to build a dolby atmos surround system, there is one available from Onkyo.
  6. No headphone will get their full performance with a soundcard,a sound card is tuned for gaming and movies and for music you will like it at first but within a year you would be upgrading to a new one.DAC on the other is just pure awesomeness that you will keep coming for more.
  7. I would recommend the Audinst HUD mini it has stereo DAC which may come in handy if you ever purchase a stereo.I would also advise you to take a look at fiio e10 DAC.Both of them are very good value, fyi at your budget you can't go for amp alone because the dac inside your pc is still bad so an amp would not be of any use. What you need is a DAC with integrated headphone amp like Fiio E10 which is way better than soundcard. If you want to future proof then i would advice you to go for Schiit magni+modi combo
  8. Glad to see people are starting to recommend M40X,it was an impulse buy for me but hasn't regretted my decision.M40x and M AUDIO studio monitors have ended my long time search for budget audiophile sound.
  9. I thought 75,but i stopped looking at w long before. There are so many other features that factor in audio quality.Time of me fooled by 1000 w home theater speakers is over.
  10. Well if you want portabliity that is quickly connecting to tv or desktop than go for Kanto Yumi otherwise go for AudioEngine A5+,if you end up choosing Kanto Yumi please let me know how is it's audio quality.
  11. Depends on price of motherboard if you have a motherboard that is near 150 then no you dont need a DAC,there is a limit to be expected of a 20 dollar lepai amp,but for me it sounds decent but you need an amp to drive passive speakers
  12. Already did year ago,i use 270x,just checked it because price was unbelievable.
  13. Lacuna coil-Karmacode,Dark Adrenaline Evanescence-Fallen My Chemical Romance-The Black Parade Within Temptation-Hydra and the usual AC-DC,Guns and Roses,Iron Maiden etc
  14. Sorry should have mention in Newegg rating for video card is low.
  15. My build is low cost one Asus m5a97 le r 2.0 corsair 8 gb vengeance (AMD)Sapphire 4 GB R9 270X LOW END CASE AMD 8350 600 W COOLER MASTER PSU\ Never encountered a game than can not play 1080p high-ultra with atleast 40 fps min COST 600 dollars
  16. I kind of feel sad in seeing someone purchase a sound card and speakers worth 462 dollars when you can get a kick ass audio system with 250 dollars.Just check out Schiit DAC connect it to Active stereo speakers like M audio stereophile av40 add a subwoofer also an amp for headphone and speakers.I used Asus U7 and after buying DAC i have never used it till now it just sits in a corner
  17. Go for M line of headphones M20X,M30X,M40X,M50X they have better overall audio quality and detachable cables.Glad to see another guy from India i purchased M40X from flipkart,it is the best headphone you can get for 100 dollars.
  18. They are worth it,i saved a lot of money and spend 1 year in research before buying these, worth the money
  19. If i had to choose i would choose DT990 any day,any gaming headset is tuned with boosted low frequencies which if you are a music listener is bad but if you are into that kind of beatusic then go for sennheiser gamer.DT 990 is an absolute beast of an headphone that will put Sennheisers to shame(music) and for gaming it is also great you will hear details in game audio that you cant here with even gaming headphones.I recommend Schiit DAC+AMP to use with DT 990 PRO.fyi using a 250 ohm impedence headphone with onboard is frowned upon
  20. Why dont you go for M40X?it sounds as good as its bigger brother
