    I suggest you go for Schiit modi DAC with M audio bx5 D2 studio monitors,music is so transparent and wide that i am blown away everytime i play music and it's been 3 months.I connect fiio e11 amp to modi DAC when i want to use it with M40X it's a great combo and both the DAC and amp together will be about 150 dollars.     I use Asus xonar U7 usb 7.1 sound card,superb value for money card it has optical,7.1,dolby htv4,headphone amp and microphone and soundquality is stunning for the price.

    It's great for music,movies and games are good too but if you don't listen to music much i suggest you go for m50.I use M40X with schiit DAC and fiio amp at 70% volume "sail" Awolnation song shakes my headphone,so it is great fot movies and games too.

    It mainly depends on your budget,i suggest you try out Sony MDR V55 not big on comfort,but at the price it's truly outstanding.Since you are a bass head sennheiser hd8 would be best for you.

    Then go for creative ep630 I have been using them for 6 or 7 years.But Bose IE2 is my recommendation for a gift,I got it as a gift from my sis its very comfortable,sounds good and reasonably sturdy

    If you are getting a gift atleast get your niece something nice,a gift is something they will remember all their life so if you buy a cheap earbuds for your niece now....

    It depends on powered or passive speakers.If it is active then buy a Schiit modi DAC for 100 dollars,otherwise if you have space an av receiver is a good option if you already one.Just make sure it doesn't get stolen

    If your primary use is to game and record audio and watch movies then soundcard like Asus xonar and creative zxr are worth buying,but if you mainly listen to music then you should invest in a DAC.I used a soundcard for a while then invested in a DAC,the difference was unbelievable the songs sound more musical with punchy bass,good highs and lows.Difference between a soundcard and DAC is that soundcard has boosted low frequencies and also sound artificial which may be great for movies and games but not for music.

    While ath m50 and m40x sounds awesome and it is reasonably portable.It will get a few stares in a train,Sennheiser Momentum has similar sound of m50 and is more portable

    Go with sennheiser momentum on ear,it has a fun sound with punchy bass that is ideal for long travels and it looks awesome,for half the price you can get Sony MDR v55 it has similar sound of Beats solo but at quarter of the price

    Ok,audio quest dragonfly has better sound according to some,but i would choose Schiit combo because it has more features

    You connect USB to Schiit modi DAC so that it converts sound to analog,connect modi to magni by rca which amplifies the sound when you connect headphone.My guess is you probably looked at optical version of modi which is also available

    Asus m5a97 le r2.0 i use it with AMD 8350 and msi r9 270x,good little kickass motherboard

    I currently own M Audio BX5 D2 and it is connected to Schiit Modi DAC to my pc,what i want to know is how do i connect a subwoofer to this setup because Schiit Modi has only rca on back,do i need to get seperate amp?
