I don't think that is it. This is the most power system in the household and yet is the only one having the problem. (i5-4690k, 16gb memory, GTX970 GPU and running on SSD, 100mps down/5mps up internet) Also again, I have a dual boat with Windows 7 and chrome doesn't have this issue. It really feels like some DNS issue... but again it's like it only affects Chrome as everything loads as it should with IE. I also reboot my router to see if it would help, and no change. in Chrome websites spin for a minute or two 25% of the time... Also if more then one tab loading at a time in Chrome and if they are timeout, they typically all time out together.

I have a fresh install of Windows 10(2-3 weeks old now). I noticed that websites are often slow to load or times out within Chrome. I'm 100% sure this is not my internet. Other machines in the house don't have this issue and I have a dual boot on this computer running Windows 7 and doesn't have this problem in Chrome on that image. It seems to happen randomly.. not more or less on one specific website. I would guess that this happens 25% of any site I go to. This started happening in Chrome right from the start once I installed it(again only few weeks old). For the times Chrome is timing out, I can still ping any site it's trying to reach and I can always switch to IE and IE doesn't have this problem. I have uninstalled/reinstalled chrome and cleared all saved browsing data/settings, reset internet explorer in internet options. I've tried switching to googles DNS server, no change. One thing that I found interesting is that if a page in Chrome is sitting trying to load.... if I open up IE while this is happening... Chrome seems to load almost right away... So some weird DNS issue? but only with Chrome? In Chrome, I could have youtube in one tab and newegg in anther tab all trying to load and once I launch IE.. everything in chrome loads immediately. I find this very strange and is nothing I've seen before or seem to be able to resolve by googling. If anyone has advise, please let me know.. Its very annoying.

My Dad still has this old 250GB external hard drive which is full. This 6TB WD Personal NAS would be nice just to keep all his files and backups on. ALso won't have to worry about plugging in a usb cable each time he wants to use it. WD 6TB My Cloud Personal Network Attached Storage - NAS - WDBCTL0060HWT-NESN - $249.99 currently for the 6TB model. http://www.amazon.com/Cloud-Personal-Network-Attached-Storage/dp/B00KU686L4/ref=sr_1_4?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1449802531&sr=1-4&keywords=wd+nas&refinements=p_n_feature_two_browse-bin%3A7817230011%2Cp_36%3A15000-29900

cable modem and Gigabit router combo docsis 3.0
evanscooter replied to evanscooter's topic in Networking
This is so cheap. Its tempting http://www.ebay.com/itm/NETGEAR-CG3000D-WiFi-Gateway-Modem-Router-Docsis-3-0-Manufacture-Refurbished-/281296301978?_trksid=p2054897.l4275 -
So I'm moving into my new place and will have TWC as my internet provider. I don't want to pay modem renting fee. Want to buy my own but also want it to be a modem and wireless router combo. I also would have to get one with 4 gigabit Ethernet ports for my desktops. Any one know of any good models that would fit my needs and be docsis 3.0? THANKS!

Hoping I can find a faster distro of linux. windows 7 takes 30 seconds at least on 80 gb hard drive. any recommendations for that would be lite and fast booting on current hardware for htpc? e6750, 2gb memory, 1gb gt 635 graphics card.

For another tv in the house that sounds like a great idea maybe in the future and I do believe I'll setup Plex, but this system in its current state is free and has a 1gb GeForce GT 635 oem card in it. Should be great for streaming movies, youtube, and some old classic games if I stick with windows.
