All of them. Also, remove GFE. It's cancer on laptops

JMaio reacted to dizmo in Plane Carry On PC?
Have you considered a NUC/Brix etc? Would be more than enough power, and you don't have to worry about taking it with you.
Or a laptop? Those are great replacements as well.

JMaio reacted to Bananasplit_00 in [Suggestion] Old mid-to-high-end video card showdown
yes. and it really needs to start at the 8800GT because i have one and its still good for some lighter gaming, i also have a 970 which is also just amazing for 1080p 60+ fps no matter what basically but yes, this video needs to be made, i recently looked at the 8800GTX vs 560 video and thats how i knew that the 8800GT would be enough for CS:GO, though i laughed my ass off at Linus saying 30Hz was a good framerate

But, was it supposed to be a VR card? I don't think so

JMaio reacted to vanished in Why does the 1080 cost less than the Titan?
The Titan line has always been a sort of mid-way between a GeForce card an a Quadro card (which I'm sure you know are very expensive for their own reasons).
That's why.

JMaio reacted to Gimbergsson in A dark theme for LinusTechTips
Hi, recently i have been working on a dark theme for LinusTechTips.
Please leave feedback and if you find something weird post it on the thread. :)
In the spoiler below is a screenshot of the theme (it's on Google chrome).
*I recommend to use the "Original theme" for larger screen sizes and the "Theme without width restrictions" on smaller screen sizes (such as laptops).
**IMPORTANT**
You need to have the site theme on "IP.BOARD"
Instructions↓
Instructions for Chrome, FireFox and Opera!
Install stylish (addon) for Chrome, FireFox, Opera Choose one of these and click on it → Original theme or Theme without width restrictions Click the big green button that says "Install with stylish" Done :D
Instructions for Safari[1]
Download stylish for Safari and install it After installed stylish click on the "S" icon in the top left corner Then choose "Manage" and in the search box search for "linustechtips" Done
Instructions for Firefox on Android
Download FireFox for your android device http://goo.gl/oe1ZJ Just follow the same instructions as Chrome and FireFox :D BUT CHOOSE THE THEME WITHOUT WIDTH RESTRICTIONS
Change logo
Install stylish using the instructions above. Go to http://goo.gl/H8fltY and click install
[1] - Works on both Windows and Mac.

JMaio reacted to SecretImbecile in BitFenix Prodigy vs. Prodigy M
It seems in the UK at least that there's very little price difference between mITX and µATX on 1150, so Unless you think you'll need the expandability (and given how well featured mITX boards are these days, that's likely limited to SLI/dedicated sound) I'd go for the mITX prodigy. It'll likely be easier to deal with the cables and get a decent looking result, given the compartmentalised design.
And just to double check, have you given any thought to the Bitfenix Phenom? It's essentially the same case with a more subtle design, and is worth a look if you haven't already.

JMaio reacted to marc23 in How to correct Multi-Display setup with different pixel densities?
Hmmmm, the best you're gonna get is scaling them manually through windows generic resolution settings by dragging the monitor you want to change in the monitor window (just literally drag either display 1 or 2 around to match up whatever seems right to you). Having not only two different monitor sizes but different resolutions is going to render it pretty much impossible to look natural. But why would you care anyways? It's not like you're gonna have a window (or anything) in the middle of the bezel of both screens. You're going to put anything either on one screen or another. Don't get me wrong here though, having an auxiliary display on a laptop is great and you're most likely going to use it for watching videos, reading, or working on a bigger, more convenient, display.
Hope this helped.

JMaio got a reaction from TheSLSAMG in ATX/Micro ATX Case Restrictions - Why?
Is it possible to stick an ATX motherboard e.g. ASUS Z87-DELUXE in what is called a "Micro-ATX" case such as the Corsair 350D?
Would it be possible? If not, why? Would it simply not fit, does it not have the necessary standoffs?
Thanks for reading,

JMaio reacted to LinusTech in ** CLOSED ** HTC Forum Giveaway - A Chance to Win 1 of 4 HTC Phones!
SPONSOR MESSAGE (please read)
HTC has been making massive waves with their HTC One Android smartphone, and while unfortunately we are not able to bring you any HTC Ones in this giveaway, the available options are absolutely rockin'. My wife has been using a DROID DNA for quite a while now, and with its S4 Pro processor and gorgeous 1080p screen it is a head-turner in spite of, or perhaps BECAUSE of the fact that most people don't recognize exactly what phone it is, particularly here in Canada.
TLDR: HUGE thanks to HTC for making this giveaway possible. You guys freakin' rock and the support you're showing for our brand new community is overwhelming!
PHONE GIVEAWAY RULES & REGULATIONS
Guys, this is one of the biggest giveaways we've ever done. HTC is making it all possible by providing us with not one, not two, not three, not four... Oh wait actually four.
FOUR phones to give away!! ah-ah-ah-ah-ah.....
Not only that, but you get to PICK your prize! Read on for more details.
This is a Linus Tech Tips giveaway, so I'm keeping it "unofficial" and opening it up to the world. With that said HTC is going to cover helping me ship TWO of the phone globally, while the other two will only be shipped to the USA only. We will draw four winners and in a case where more than 2 winners are outside of the USA will we re-draw.
Now for the really cool part. You actually get to PICK the phone you want from the list of available phones! With that said, the phones available in the different regions vary a little bit.
Prizes: 4 HTC smartphones with a "pick your prize" approach!
USA winners can pick between the following:
DROID DNA
HTC 8X
HTC One S
HTC EVO 4G LTE
HTC One X+
International winners can pick between the following:
HTC One X+
HTC 8X
HTC 8S

JMaio reacted to Elbstrand in Need Case Suggestions!
I always say that to myself, but in the end i get a whole new system or atleast just replace my graphicscard instead of SLI/CrossFire... :D
Well you could still get Micro ATX, something like the "Asus RoG Maximus V Gene" should support SLI @ M-ATX and then you could use something like the Corsair 350D which is pretty awesome and quite small and not that heavy.
-
JMaio reacted to mgsstar in Need Case Suggestions!
+1 on this. This case is a great case that offers great airflow.
-
JMaio reacted to Elbstrand in Need Case Suggestions!
I just wanted to remind everyone here, that the Fractal Design Define cases are indeed generally considered to be somewhat on the heavier side because of the steel construction. Of course, what the threadstarter considers heavy, is open for interpretation.
By the way, WHY don't you want a heavy case? Plan on moving (it) around a lot?
-
JMaio reacted to Elbstrand in Need Case Suggestions!
Don't you think the Define R4 fails to meet the criteria:
"Sturdy, not too heavy"
-
JMaio reacted to Rovert19 in Need Case Suggestions!
I will reiterate what others have said and suggest the define r4 or arc midi r2. Both fullfills pretty much all your requirements and come at reasonable price points. In addition, the arc midi r2 has fantastic custom water cooling options.
Cheers.
