  1. I'm opening this topic for reference to people that encounter this problem, since the fixes I found didn't help me My HTPC: Intel dg31pr (socket LGA775) Intel Q6600 ATI Radeon 5670 (1GB) Kingston 2x2GB ddr2 Samsung 40" smart TV (UN40FH) Problem: System was running fine, but after a restart I got a blank screen (All fans running, including GPU). After a couple of tries the system would work again, but sooner or later the screen wouldn't turn on after a shut down/reboot/sleep. The issue would come and go randomly, sometimes I couldn't turn it on for days and suddenly it worked again. When the system started correctly, it worked flawlessly. Solution: The problem wasn't related to the GPU or the HDMI cable as I thought. Some topics online suggested a faulty PSU, but it wasn't the case either. Turns out I had a partially faulty ram stick that wouldn't let the system start even after a lot of power ups and downs. It took me a lot longer to figure out this was the issue because I thought it was video related, since the system seemed like it was running properly. The randomness of the occurrence misled my troubleshoot (When I tried my main PC's HDMI cable it worked, so I thought that was the issue  ) That's it, I swapped the stick of ram and now that system is running very smoothly, does a decent job as a HTPC, even with a power hungry q6600 under the hood.

  5. Thanks for the input guys! I think the 2 tiers solution is great, this way smaller teams can get into the race by themselves. Hopefully the captains will put more thought into it next year.
  6. http://folding.extremeoverclocking.com/graphs/production_day.php?s=&t=223518 dat spike
  7. Something I wanted to talk about and never remembered, any of you guys followed evga's side of the race? Basically they said that OCF was the only team that massively recruited visiting racers, and that's what won the challenge for them. It's true, the raw amount of points that the visitors generated times the handicap was key for the victory. For the next race evga said that they wont compete as a team, but they'll join any team besides OCF to leverage the points with the handicap multiplier. If that happens there's no way for any other team to win without massive (By massive I mean all the other teams racing together as one). So this was possibly the last "legit" challenge. What you guys think about it?
  8. 30k is a buggy mark, it can't go that high. For a i5 3570k I got 22k max when only cpu folding, now it's at ~17k.
  9. Overall the race was very fun and intense, and now this boost is very welcomed. Rank 198 of 218132 atm, huge bump for the team.
