Firstly I would try and test your gpu in another system if that's possible for you to do. Assuming it is the gpu I would talk to new egg and see if they're willing to do anything for you (though afaik they're not obliged to do anything), normally however you would have to rma it through the manufacturer.

I realise this is answered, but an alternative to this would be to use the 'line in' on your pc and plug the headphones into your pc unless ofcourse your on a laptop or your pc does't have line in.

Nonononono... If your motherboard is new, then you don't need a soundcard. If you want your music louder just get an external amp.

Sadly, the only thing purely better would be an O2 amp + ODAC. Those go for about $250 bucks (Mr. Mayflower has a 5% discount for LTT Forum members for the time being).
 
You could buy an E9k + E7k, but that'd be about $190 bucks and you might as well save up the $60 until you can gnab an Objective solutuion.

To backup what Mayflower stated earlier if you do decide to go ahead with the upgrade I'd probably recommend taking your full $200 budget and spending it on headphones for now rather than spending nearly half an something like a fiio e10 or similar and being left with a small budget for headphones. I'd say go with the ad700x's or something to your liking and look and purchasing an external dac and/or amp in the future. You can find  a great range of headphones here, store is in Australia and they include free postage, dealt with them a few times before and it was a great experience. Pricing isn't always cheapest so look around but they're usually pretty competitive.

Depending on the headphones you're using there mighten actually be a noticable difference between your onboard and a soundcard and secondly, for that money have you considered an external solution? In you're price bracket you could get a decent external dac/amp which would be of much better quality than any soundcard unless there's some particular features on the Asus soundcards you really want? And again, if your headphones suck you'd be far better off putting the money toward a decent pair of headpohones, hope this was helpful.

Let's just ignore the new engine, amazing destruction, commander mode (supporting tablets and a second monitor), revamped Battlelog, the return of platoons, new weapons, vehicles, maps, game-modes. 
 
Besides that there's not much more you can really add to a multi-player FPS and game whilst still keeping it enjoyable for the intended audience. The destructible environment coupled with new maps alone is enough to change the experience. 
 
BF4 has many improvements carrying on from BF3, improved destruction/graphics/engine, revamped suppression, squads can now have 5 players + they new squad perk system is much better than in BF3, improved Battlelog so it's not a steam pile of crap and is actually intergrated into the game, a spectator mode is a small addition but still nice nonetheless.
 
There are many improvements and it has made some large changes for a BF game, you seem as if you're uneducated on the matter and just love hating everything that has something to do with EA.

Judging by that  article they're just looking to expand on their range of ftp games. I think people are misinterpretting this, they're not going to ditch bf5 for a ftp version, thats what battlefield play4free is for. By the sound of it they are going to add play for free options of some of their other titles. I really don't see how this is a bad thing...

I watched the clip and I don't think he ever said all new games will be free to play, just that in some parts of the world "where they only play free to play games" EA is doing the free to play thing. And that he thinks its a good game model I think the huge thing we should take away is that pc gaming is #3 on EAs list behind consoles and smart phones, and just before platforms that they are developing nothing for like nvida shield.

Nice review, great to see you like them. I bought a pair myself about a year ago, I ended up doing a  detachable cable mod as I found the cable was a bit long.

+1 for the AD700's and Zalman mic. Incredibly comfy and they sound great for the money, I used to own siberia's quite a while ago, and the 700's are way comfier and sound better. Zalman mic is also great if your just doing voice chat and stuff like that, cheaper than the modmic too and just as good afaik.

nothing (games are a bit expensive though), they think its cool hate on everything EA does, getting really old now.

I don't particularly like the "faster, cheaper, sooner" option, the current network is seriously out of date and the half assed solution the Liberal's are proposing is going to need be updated sooner anyway. That said things look pretty bad for Labor at the moment, I can't really see them winning the next ellection especially with the seemingly unstable leadership in the Labor party. Going to have to vote for the first time and honestly both choices seem to suck.
