  1. Hi, sorry for the titlegore but I thought it was quite fitting. The official requirements for Battlefield 1 has been released and on the recommended section it says a GTX 1060 or RX 480 is good enough https://www.origin.com/nor/en-us/store/battlefield/battlefield-1/standard-edition?referringsite=battlefield&_ga=1.218611033.1518759081.1462154907#requirements According to benchmarks the performance of the 1060 is equivalent to the performance of a 980 Pc gamer - RX 480 and GTX 1060 benchmark scores And the RX 480 is equivalent to a R9 390 why wouldn't they recommend the GTX 980 and R9 390 instead?
  2. Thought so, just had a hope that it would serve me a few more years. well, it is/was a really old monitor if we think of the technology, so I guess you're right.
  3. I have a old monitor that I use as a second monitor, a Packard Bell Maestro 190w, made 11/ 2006 (according to the sticker on it) which i think is dead. The problem occured out of nowhere, it suddenly went dark, it is nothing wrong with the cables (tested it on working monitor) and whenever i take it off and on again it works for maybe 2-3 seconds then it turns black. I tried to open it up to maybe clean it abit but with no success. Is it past its lifespan? Is 10 years a respecable lifespan? Is it anything I can do to resurrect it? Thank you. edit: Windows 10 Asus Z97-A KFA2 gtx 980 Ti OC i5 4690k
  4. isnt the r9 390x better? EDIT: It seems like i should go for a single GPU to avoid SLI/CF issues, so I think I'll wait to either a) get a 980 Ti or see the pascal serie Thank you all for your opinion!
  5. ACER GD245HQbid, the 1920*1080 @ That is going to go over my budget ... That will be 1k more expensive for me Thats gonna go over the budget Looks like we have a lot of shared opinions, If I'm going to SLI, it is gonna be the 970 (within the pricerange), so for a single GPU that is in my price range that will be the 980 and r9 390x. Should I maybe wait for the Pascals to come out?
  6. i5 4690k @4.5Ghz Asus z97-A G.Skill RipjawsZ 8GB@2400Mhz CM Silent Pro Gold 1000w GTX 480 SLI Win 10 Home 1x 1920*1080 @120hz and 1440*900@75hz Its about time to upgrade my now 5 year old gpus to something that offers more than 1500mb of vRAM. So the gpus I'm looking at is the 970, the 980 and the 390x. The first are 4096mb vRAM and the last 8GB vRAM. I have a HAF X case, so overclocking is going to happen. What upgrade would be the best for me? single, dual 970? the 980 maybe? the 390x since it got twice the vRAM as the other two? I dont want to spend more than 5000 NOK or 608 USD This site(Norwegian) is what i have the possibilety to buy here in Norway that meets my requriements Original: http://www.prisguide.no/kategorier/skjermkort?f[1150][]=4096%20MB%20og%20over&f[688][]=DirectX%2012 English: https://translate.google.com/translate?hl=no&sl=no&tl=en&u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.prisguide.no%2Fkategorier%2Fskjermkort%3Ff%5B1150%5D%5B%5D%3D4096%20MB%20og%20over%26f%5B688%5D%5B%5D%3DDirectX%2012 EDIT: I can stretch the budget to get two 970, but not more (5646NOK that will be) EDIT2: It seems like i should go for a single GPU to avoid SLI/CF issues, so I think I'll wait to either a) get a 980 Ti or b) see the pascal serie Thank you all for your opinion!

  8. hmm, the only controll card i found which had what i needed was Asus U3S6, http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/U3S6/and in the compatible models the Rampage III extreme wasn't there... I'm not keen on using a large amount of money on that kind of thing, but it wasnt a bad idea! and btw, is my MB backwards compatible with the controller?
  9. My budget would be around 3500 NOK, or 450 USD. Location is Norway - I used the website www.prisguide.no when i bought the computer I have today Is the asus Maximus VII Ranger - http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/MAXIMUS_VII_RANGER/ and the i5 4690K - http://ark.intel.com/products/80811/Intel-Core-i5-4690K-Processor-6M-Cache-up-to-3_90-GHz a good combo?
  10. So that hit me in the face (...) I'll give you an update when I'm done reinstalling windows... (did so in hope that it would change from IDE to AHCI, but it did unfortunately not) EDIT: oki, I'm fed up, haha my whole computer is 5 years old, time for a new mobo and cpu. Any suggestions?
  11. EDIT: In the BIOS when looking at the Hard Disk Drives the SSD is recognized as an IDE... Do I have to reinstall and activate AHCI everywhere (there are 1 option for SATA 2 and one for the SATA3)
  12. No... It's a asus SATA 3 cable, have tried switching cable but still no better result
  13. As you can see on the pictures, AHCI is enabled and I am using SATA 3. I also get very often a BSOD with the message "INTERRUPT_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED" and the error code 0x0000003D. Windows 7 Home premium 64bit Corsair Dominator ddr3 6GB Asus Rampage III Extreme 2x Gtx 480s Anything more you need to know, just ask! EDIT: In the BIOS when looking at the Hard Disk Drives the SSD is recognized as an IDE... Do I have to reinstall and activate AHCI everywhere (there are 1 option for SATA 2 and one for the SATA3)
