  1. These People (below) who think they can use social media and not be on the internet. http://qz.com/333313/milliions-of-facebook-users-have-no-idea-theyre-using-the-internet/ Also, I would like to point out that some people think that "Wi-Fi" is the internet and everything to do with the internet. For instance, someone was on a (desktop) at school and said, "Why is the Wifi not working?" even when the computer was connected with an ethernet cable. Sometimes, people even blame "the wifi" on a computer because the computer is too slow at booting up or opening a application (which is completely unrelated to any form of networking). Another experience, is when people think its the "wifi's" fault when its actually the ISP's fault (or amount they are willing to give the ISP). For instance, when people have a really strong wifi signal (like -45 RSSI) and then they complain that the "wifi" is so slow even though its because their ISP limits them to (like 3 mbps).
  2. People who think that they've already hacked you when they have your IP address. (note: they think think an IP address is like a password and don't know it can change if you have a dynamic IP). Similarly, some people think that they don't have a MAC address because their computer is a PC.
  3. Again, I never said that the SSD is only for your operating system, you could have multiple operating systems to boot off it and have all your applications reside on it and yes you can use it to store things on the same drive. If you were wondering, I store my space consuming data on Hard Drives, not another SSD if you were wondering. The Other SSD was because I edit video and I ran out of space on my main boot disk and editing high bitrate video takes speed.
  4. I never said that it had to be pre-installed, but usually a person installs their main OS on it (whether it be Linux, OS X, or Windows) and without a storage device (SSD) to boot off, the computer would just just go to the motherboard startup screen and sometimes say that there is no boot media or something like that. So without a storage device (in this case SSD) windows would not be able to run on the computer.
  5. Thats sorta makes sense since the SSD (probably) contains Windows on it. Also, calling a computer a computer box is like calling a computer a computer, so that makes sense too.
  6. My school got "new" (new to the room, the computers aren't new) computers for the computers we use for photo editing (photoshop/illustrator) and they have a Pentium 4 HT and 1 GB of RAM and a 80GB HDD (plus intel iGPU). But for video editing we have computers with i7-4770 with 8GB RAM and nvidia Quadro K2000 and a 1TB hard drive. Talk about cutting costs to spend on other things.
  7. Get on my download speed (ignore the ping and upload)
  8. I pinged my friend's computer, he came over to see what I was doing and he said, "what are you doing". Pinging your computer, and he said, "don't break my computer!" It took forever to explain that pinging a computer is harmless, and even if done to stage of a DDOS attack, doesn't cause any damage. He was so mad that I pinged his computer and still doesn't accept that it does no harm.
  9. I'll have to agree to the second one. I have a Vaio Pro 13 and it probably has one of the worst touch screens available. Not to mention that the fan noise is so loud, even when just watching a movie.
  10. Buying a Seasonic 750w M12 II power supply, broke within the first week so I was fed up with midrange psus and bought a ax860i.
  11. When my mom's friend came over an external monitor was attached to an iMac. When she saw this she said, "How do you connect a Samsung to an Apple?" (monitor was a 27" Samsung). (it was with HDMI to a HDMI to mini display port adapter.) I don't recall that I answered the question since I thought she wouldn't understand.
  12. This person on Youtube thinks Water-Cooling is Fake, probably didn't watch the video or is just trollin' Found Here: http://youtu.be/W7BdBPSx92M This | v
  13. There's this person I know, he asked me what computer I use. I replied, "I built it." He then said, "Then it must be slow and crappy."
  14. I Helped her choose, we went to this store in Canada called Memory Express. I guess I just can't stand 1mbps since at my home (compressed) 4K video loads without buffering. The $5 a month extra is actually $10 extra and is to upgrade to 10mbps (Canadian internet prices; which makes her pay $44.99 for internet right now or $55 for the 10 times faster internet) but I asked her if she would upgrade even if it is only $5 more and she said no.
  15. One day my friend said he wanted to buy an iMac, he asked me where and what the "computer" part of the iMac was and asked if it was the black thing (mac pro). Facepalm. On another note, he wants to play battlefield 4 and the latest games (like watchdogs) on his laptop, a Ivy Bridge i5 computer with 8 GB of RAM and Intel integrated HD4000 graphics.
  16. The reason why she's using such a slow toshiba laptop is because one day we went out to buy a new computer for her (core i5, SSD, 6GB RAM, integrated graphics) and she didn't use it at all, then one day (when the computer was only 2 months old and gathering dust) she sold it for very cheap, like $400. And she needs a computer for her work (accounting) so now her old toshiba needs is so slow, it takes 10 mins to turn on and 10 mins to turn off. Also, her internet is so slow, (1mbps down and 0.25mbps up) and whenever she gets a call from the internet service provider about upgrading, she says she doesn't want faster internet even if it is only $5 dollars more every month. So whenever I go to her home and try to access the internet, it takes forever to load a video and to download anything.
  17. LOL. My aunt still uses windows vista and I ask her why she doesn't use windows 7, she says its because "it will make my computer slow" (her computer is a toshiba and has a 1.5ghz centrino duo.)
