  1. Sounds good. What are your thoughts on heat output/power consumption between Intel and AMD?
  2. That's interesting, I was told at Microcenter a few days ago that AMD would perform better for those software's. In what use cases does the 7950x perform better?
  3. After additional troubleshooting such as replacing the PSU, GPU, and CPU, it was determined that the motherboard went bad.
  4. Budget (including currency): less than $1400 USD Country: United State Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Adobe Lightroom, photoshop, premiere elements, CAD such as CREO/SolidWorks and occasional games such as grand theft auto and battlefield. Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Hello, I am currently looking into upgrading my motherboard, CPU, and RAM as my current motherboard has component failure and I'd rather invest into new hardware then fixing old hardware as my motherboard is out of warranty. I currently have a Ryzen 9 5950x and an x570 Aorus Xtreme motherboard with 64gb of ram. The hardware I am considering purchasing is listed below: Ryzen 9 7950X Ryzen 9 7950X3D ROG STRIX X670E-E GAMING WIFI X670E Taichi DOMINATOR® PLATINUM RGB 64GB (2x32GB) DDR5 DRAM 6000MT/s CL30 AMD EXPO & Intel XMP Memory Kit The main question I have is what CPU and motherboard would you recommend? I have seen that the 7950x performs better than the 3d version in some productivity workloads but does the 3d cache come in handy in other situations? For the motherboards I was recommended the Tiachi but I noticed that the ROG Strix has additional usb ports on the rear IO. I am looking to purchase as soon as possible to get the computer up and running again. Thank you in advance,
  5. Hello everyone. My system with specs listed below has been running into error code 0d with no post. The system has been offline for 8 days as I have been out of town. Before I left, I shut the system down and shut down the UPS the system was connected to. Prior to leaving, the system did not experience any issues and was fully functional. All the fans run continuously and RGB lights do power on including the keyboard. But the lights for caps lock and number lock do not illuminate. In addition to the error code 0d, the post code does occasionally cycle through codes as shown in the video below. 6. I am just trying to figure out the performance differences between the two stick and 4 stick kit
  7. That is true but two sticks per channel instead of one
  8. I'm not sure. I haven't looked into scratch disks before
  9. Hello everyone, I am currently looking into purchasing more RAM for my desktop since I am usually around 28/32 GB while editing RAW files in Adobe Lightroom (45-50mb per file). I currently have a 32 GB 3244mhz kit of Corsair Dominator Platinum on a Gigabyte x570 Xtreme with an AMD Ryzen 9 5950x. I have found two Corsair Kits of 64 GB 3600mhz, One is 2x 32 GB CL 18 and the other is 4x 16 GB CL 16. Do you have any recommendations on which kit to go for as the 4-stick kit has a lower latency but is not dual channel. Also, would 64 GB be a good upgrade or would 128 GB be worth the extra costs? 10. That looks like a nice monitor. I've never used curved before, do you have any thoughts on curved vs flat?
  11. Hey guys, I am currently using a 27in dell 144hz TN panel and I was thinking about upgrading to 4k 144hz. I recently bought an LG 42in 120hz OLED TV for monitor use, but it gave me a lot of headaches and motion sickness due to the size. OLED was awesome though. So I am thinking of trying out 32in and how do these monitor options look or are there better options or different display formats like ultrawide? My system is an R9 5950x and an RTX 3080 and I mostly play games like Battlefield 4/2042 and CAD work. 12. Sounds good and thank you. I was on mobile and didn't see the product question section.
  13. Hey guys, I am currently looking at this cat6a cable since I need around 200ft of outdoor cable since the cable will be exposed outside to bridge a POE+ access point. Spec wise it looks good, but the jacket thickness is 8.7mm +-0.5mm and I am having some trouble finding ends that will support a cable this thick. The cable is thicker due to a water block layer. Does anyone have any suggestions on ends or a slightly different cable or would an end with clearance for an 8.5mm jacket work? 14. Hello, I have a Gigabyte x570 Xtreme rev 1.1 motherboard that has an Intel 1GbE LAN and AQUANTIA® 10GbE BASE-T LAN. The internet service provided to my desktop is around 600-700Mbps. The intel LAN does a speed test at 650Mbps and the Aquantia lan does 90Mbps. Is there any way to solve the issue of the Aquantia LAN being a lot slower than intel LAN? I have all the Aquantia drivers installed but I feel that it should be much more similar to the Intel LAN because the Aquantia LAN is supposed to allow higher speeds being 10GbE so It should be compatible with 650Mbps like the Intel is? Also, the computer acheves a faster internet speed test while on Wifi. Thank you,
  15. How many watts would you say, 850-1000?
  16. Unfortunately those commands did not work and the driver updates/reinstall. So I'm thinking it's something to do with the power supply or motherboard
  17. Yes I have. And I've tried two different kits would it be beneficial to try another motherboard? Like the x570 aorus master
  18. Aorus x570 xtreme and corsair hx850i
  19. Hello, my computer has been getting a lot of crashes lately while under load where it just locks up and a buzz comes from the speakers like a failed CPU overclock and it occurs to quick for a blue screen to occur. I have tried resetting windows, two cpu's (R9 3950x and 5950x) two gpus (RTX 3080 12gb and GTX 980 4gb) and two kits of 32gb DDR4 with no luck. My system specs are R9 5950x, 32gb ddr4, RTX 3080 12gb, 850-watt PSU and custom looped, no components are overheating and I have tried bios updates too. Does anyone have any suggestions on what to do next? Thank you,
  20. I had the bios set to not go below 1500 but it dropped to 700 all of a sudden. I unplugged the pump from the motherboard to force the pump to run at 100% and it is now idling at around 44C. This loop has been running for months so I'm not sure what would cause the motherboard to not force the pump at full speed, maybe the bios update I performed.
  21. I noticed that my bios is reporting my pump RPM at 700 instead of the normal 4000rpm. I'm assuming this can be causing an issue?
  22. Yep, I meant 54C. And sounds good, I won't worry about it too much. I'm Just curious, are these AMD style blocks actually beneficial or is it just marketing where they say it gets around 5C cooler then a intel block? Optimus Foundation CPU Block - AMD - Optimus Water Cooling (optimuspc.com)
  23. The load temperatures for 3d mark CPU profile were 83C for CPU and CCD1 was 78C and CCD2 was 60C
  24. So turns out what was not idle. idle is actually around 54F. Only change in bios was XMP for ram and bios/chipset is updated
