Speaking as a graduate of this major. Unless you're going to do be doing large machine learning/data mining projects, large hardware simulation projects, or running crawlers/hadoop off the laptop, you can do with lower than i5 without any problems. (I'm still using a core 2 duo centrino from 2009, replaced with dual ssd, still works great).

People need to be fined for using literally like this. I see people do this literally all the time.

In state is WAY cheaper if you choose to go to a public school. Depending on what state, you could still get far away if that's your goal. Please don't choose a school based on that though!

It Kinda does

There's a channel called How I Became on YouTube that interviewed Linus about the same kinds of things you're asking. He said a major advantage he had was working somewhere (NCIX) that gave him access to tons of hardware to review. Perhaps try finding work at an established tech place to get more hands on stuff to talk about?

Step one:Locate and clean CPU cooler.

Step two: Locate And cut up broken USB cable (It will probably be a micro  :lol:). Isolate the black and red wires.

Step three: Black to black. Red to yellow.

It lives!

Step four: Tape it up if you want.

I did the same thing with the glass bottles back when they printed the city the bottle was made in on the bottom.
