  1. Ended up finding the probable fix: https://www.asus.com/me-en/support/FAQ/1044458/ Thanks for the input guys.
  2. Will try that, ill report back when ive updated it.
  3. Hey guys, Built my new PC today but have a slight issue. The SSD shows up in BIOS (under RAID(?)) I have a feeling that could have something to do with it. So now I cant install windows on the disk. CPU: 12900k Mobo: Asus Z690-A DDR5 SSD: Samsung 980 PRO heatsink ed
  4. Your startup apps are probably in your specified user folder, you need to move them to general (common) startup apps: C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\StartUp Instead of: C:\Users\[User Name]\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup
  5. Yeah i've been running them fine for just over 2 years now, but this doesnt fill me with confidence if you know what I mean.
  6. So im not exactly sure what I want to do with this post, I guess maybe some advice would be nice (how to handle this with the manufacturer/seller) and a PSA about leaving hardware to run when youre not there? And just a funny story to read. So... the backstory: Me and my friends are competing in a 23 hour charity race for mental health awareness and we are coming up to my stints (im driving the car in about and hour or so) and my middle monitor showing Iracing starts acting up. I dont think anything weird of it because visual bugs happen quite often in Iracing when the sim has been running for a while, usually a restart of the sim fixes this. I record a video for my friends to see what (I thought) was a weird visual bug and post it in the discord: Not even 2 minutes later (when my friends are reacting to the video i posted) I notice a blob of what I can only discribe as dead pixels forming on the right hand side of my display (Samsung LC27JG50), I touch it (like and idiot) and it actually burns my finger: (Non PG swearing, so be warned) https://www.twitch.tv/r8g_gordiemutchracing/clip/MushyCrispyDunlinDogFace-BDzwGdf9bDyfkfWr Hole in the display: https://imgur.com/kxIrHRp So after I turn off the monitor I jump out of my sim rig to unplug it as well and then the smell hits me... burning plastics and electronics. GREAT, I have to be in the racecar in 50 minutes by now and have a dead display that I need to replace. I do have a replacement but its a 4k 60hz monitor, So ill be going into my race stint with 0 practice on 60hz (coming from a 144hz simracer, believe me that is a MASSIVE difference) So I replace the broken monitor like an F1 pitcrew and the rest is history... So how do I aproach this phone call with Samsung/the seller tomorrow, im not comfortable running these monitors anymore as they have now shown themselfs to spontaniously conbust...
  7. The picture was taken through the passenger side window, so with some clever positioning you could get all sorts of reflections.

    Terrible temps

Are you sure the fans are spinning? If not check if they are plugged in, if they are spinning check what fan curve they are set too and if there is enough space in the case for them to pull cool air through. The only other things I can think of is that the thermal paste application is not enough. the cooler is defective or the heatsink is not seated right.
  9. Microsofts own certification program would be great start to look at what you want to learn specifically, after that you can either decide to do a Microsoft certification or look elsewhere for the same-ish course. https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/learn/certifications/browse/?products=windows
  10. According to Gigabytes own website the B450 DS3H does support 5000 gen AMD CPU's. https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/B450M-DS3H-rev-1x#kf It will work but as HelpfulTechWizard says if you can spring for a B550 board you will have a more modern featureset and a BIOS guanranteed to support the 5000 series out of the box.
  11. Lovely watch and very nice pictures, I especially like the first one as it brings in a lot of depth of field with the wrist band. I have been fortunate enough to work with a good friend of mine to capture his racing season this year, I have always been interested in motorsport photography and this was the first season for me as a 'professional' I learned a lot in those 10 months! Taken on: A7rIII with the Sony 35mm f1.4 GM
  12. There should be a way to check what version of the BIOS you are running after its done doing its thing. Just cross reference it with the latest version on the vendor's site.
  13. Some people don't know what comput units mean. It is easier to just give them an AMD and Nvidia card and call it a day.
  14. Intergrated GPU's only come in CPU's. What CPU will you use in combination with the motherboard?
  15. Looks good! I personally would have gone for a cheaper Mobo but the price you paid for the whole this is not bad at all.
  16. BenQ's are the best for high refresh 1080p monitor's so i'd go with that one if you are playing games like cs:go.
  17. im thinking somewhere in the range of i5 6300, maybe even lower. that sould do the trick
  18. i sould be getting a second pc tommorow to test components so ill try that, thanks!
  19. tried that, still crashed in valley. wouldnt it be weird if it worked fine all that time and break now?
  20. hdmi 2.0 supports 4k at 60hz so it sould support 144hz at 1080p
  21. my pc broke again. running fine for about 3 months after fixing the same problem it has now (i have no idea how i fixed it i just put in my gpu and installed drivers and it worked again?!?) what it did: crash whilst playing csgo and reboot into this screen: http://imgur.com/a/vL7B3 when i reinstalled drivers it seemed to be fine but after trying valley benchmark it crashes again. temps and loads are fine. i really dont know why it worked fine for weeks and now its doing the same thing again...\ halp
  22. so youre saying buy a new psu and it sould be fixed? ill go to a buddies house first and see if that works. it might indeed be the psu
  23. well with ''the other issues'' i meant that every gpu except the cheapo gt520 i put in it doesnt work. and the fact that my 780 exploded 5 days after me getting it
