SuspiciousBadger got a reaction from App4that in Did I succesfully overclock my GTX 970?
Thank you very much @App4that, @randomhkkid & @knightslugger. Thanks to you 3 I succesfully overclocked my GPU to a point where it is stable! My 3D Mark Firestrike score improved by 11,5% which is a massive succes in my eyes. Here are the results.
I ordered an aftermarket cpu cooler(Hyper 212 Evo) so I can also OC my CPU!

That'll happen. If you look closely, you'll see something like this:
Pull the cable from the motherboard to get it working right away. Of if you want to retain the use of the other port, cut the cable just right. Or bend the pins back.

I honestly use 7zip. I like it because it doesn't spams with messages like BUY ME NOW. Everytime you launch it...

SuspiciousBadger reacted to Midnitewarrior4 in SLI Support?
no you cant, take the 960, sell it sell ur current mobo and save a bit and buy a new sli mobo and another 970, or just sell the 960 and have some cash for the future
-
SuspiciousBadger reacted to Fgtfv567 in SLI Support?
Wait until DirectX 12 allows more flexible multi-card configs before you buy the 960. Your motherboard might have to support SLI when DirectX 12 pops up, but I don't know
As of now, no. Your mobo will let you do SLI, but you can only put another 970 in there because you have a 970 right now. Or buy 2 960s to SLI, but you have a 970, so don't do that.
Edit: I've updated my Compatibility guide (In the signature) for multi-GPU setups like SLI. It's under Data, GPU, Multi-GPU setups

I got my vinyl, oh boy.
Did the one side panel.
I also did the next coat of paint, I have to wait 48 hours between coats. I may do one more or I may not depending on how it comes out. -

Yes. Get the TPLink powerline kit. I use their routers and wifi cards and have worked really well for me. They also have a pretty much 5 star rating on amazon.
at others ... seriously read the post.

The 4gb card is worth it as if you are going to be buying a 2gb card then you may aswell get a 285.

Build Title: "Project Iceberg" The Ultimate Watercooled Gaming Wall
Thread URL: http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/365700-project-iceberg-the-ultimate-water-cooled-gaming-wall/
Description: An Idea I had for many years, financially held back from attempting it until recently. The idea was to bring my pc and game consoles together, wall mount and watercool them all.
It's a big project and it all stays cool, hence the name "Iceberg"(first thing that popped in my head). I built it all from the ground up, basically coming up with more ideas on how to mount parts
as i worked through. I had a rough idea in my head of how i wanted it to look but certain obstacles got in the way and I had to improvise. I was sure on a couple things from the beginning, that was
the white and blue theme and the glowing company logos. I'm happy with the result though if there is one thing i may change in the future its the flexible tubing to hardline acrylic.

SuspiciousBadger reacted to Slow N Stupid in Ordering this rig tommorow is it good?
is it just me or is this missing cpu cooler? If you're planning to just be on stock cooler and never ever OC then go without K version and save some money... If you're planning to add cpu cooler then just go mow your grandma's lawn and clean house and get some money and buy Hyper 212 EVO (it's like 20 - 40$ depending on where you are)
-
SuspiciousBadger reacted to givingtnt in Ordering this rig tommorow is it good?
ok. because you will have trouble overclocking with the stock cooler. I reccomend you don't till you get a better cooling solution

If used for gaming, fantastic build. If you want to do content creation, I'd bump the CPU up to a 4790k
