Today is the 5th Anniversary of this forum. A lot has changed since we first launched.

The first version of the forum, in January 2013, was running a beta version of VBulliten out of a server in the corner of NCIX. The admin team (which didn't include me) had a lot of trouble dealing with lost posts and was generally very buggy. Unfortunately the Wayback machine doesn't appear to have captured the CSS from that version.

In April 2013, the site switched to using IP.Board, to the great relief of everyone. To begin with, it just used the default theme, complete with the old LTT logo

Later that year, the first versions of the day and night themes were released by @Cat :^)

In January 2015, the themes were significantly overhauled

After that, there were no major changes until January 2016 (though a lot of work was done in the background to prepare for the update), when we updated to IPS 4, which was a complete rewrite of all the back end code, along with a shiny new server to host it all, and some really clean new themes from Cat

Since then, there have been lots of small updates, and one slightly larger one, bringing us to what we have today

A huge thanks to all the members who have made this a success, the contributors who have helped cover the significant costs of running the site, and all of the moderators who give up their time to keep the site clean and ask for nothing in return.

Man, has it really been 5 years? I remember joining back in May 2013 and it didn't even feel like 5 years. But it's quite cool to see the forum grow and change in the last 5 years.

Damn I've been here through quite a few changes.

    You should mod me :P

Hopefully it stays running for years to come, and it should so long as you don't leave a major flaw in the code xD

How long have you worked on the forum anyway, as you've been an admin for as long as I've been here

I became a mod in October(ish) 2014, and started helping out with some of the forum software administration stuff in Jan 2015. In the summer of 2015 the previous admin left, and I have progressively taken on more responsibility since then.

At first I thought LTT was a regular tech website with a comments section so I signed up in November 2015 but only posted a year later because I’ve never been to forums before.
