It took longer than I expected for someone to think of right click and Save As.

Just Monika reacted to jagdtigger in Adblocking Does Not Constitute Copyright Infringement, Court Rules
Summary
A district court in Hamburg dismissed a case filed by Axel Springer against Eyeo GmbH claiming AdBlock Plus “changed the programming code of websites thus directly accessing the legally protected offer of publishers.”, thus breaking copyright law. The case got dismissed because ABP does not alter any code. Sadly Axel Springer is planning to appeal...

(only tok quotes from TF because those summed up the case in short, also linking a yahoo finance article with a bit more detail)
My thoughts
Well this is good news, despite all the negative voices claiming otherwise. Big media companies already have an obscene amount of control over things they shouldnt have.... Lets hope the appeals court leaves this ruling in place.

Just Monika reacted to char3327 in YouTube testing video download feature for desktop
Youtube does know that there are YouTube to mp3 or mp4 converters on the internet right? People are already downloading the videos they want for free...why make people pay for a premium membership to not even have the actual file??? Seems kinda useless to me

Just Monika reacted to BuckGup in HUB concludes that if you have a lower end CPU a Radeon GPU may be a better choice (if you can find one 😆)
If you bought a 3090 to play at 1080p there's more wrong than just the drivers lol

Just Monika reacted to nelska in I just realized I have gddr4 ram and a gpu with gddr5vram..
Is this ok or should I seriously consider upgrading my ram sticks? I have a b250 pc mate and the bios literally wont even let me raise the clock on them so i dont even get full speed out of them. thanks jw.

Just Monika reacted to Coolmaster in RAM RMA for blown capacitor
You might not want to mention that you overclocked your RAM to the manufacturer. Usually overclocking voids your warranty, but they have no real way to know unless you tell them.
-
Just Monika reacted to Coolmaster in RAM RMA for blown capacitor
They will replace it if it has a defect that was caused by an error in manufacturing. Unless you did something to cause that capacitor to blow it should be under warranty.

Just Monika reacted to RollinLower in Your debt collectors may soon be adding you on Facebook
the best solution here would be to just not get into debt.
Edit
Okay people, if you read the thread you will know you don't have to quote this anymore. The us is just a shitty country to get hurt in. Now I know. Please stop quoting this.

Just Monika reacted to PlayStation 2 in Is it me, or are awfully written posts increasing?
As the audience seemingly gets younger every year and the overall intelligence of this forum dips, I think it has gotten worse over the year.

Just Monika reacted to HumdrumPenguin in RDNA2 VRAM Leaks: Go buy AMD cards if you want more than 10GB.
One does not buy a high end card to lower usage of, well, anything.

Just Monika reacted to HumdrumPenguin in Nvidia 30 Series unveiled - RTX 3080 2x faster than 2080 for $699
I don't think these are related in the way you mention it. VRAM is MUCH faster than RAM, but if you run out of VRAM, your system will be relying on whatever RAM you have available to do the extra work. You can go for the 3090 without a problem.

Just Monika reacted to TetraSky in RAM and SSD prices soon to plummet due to oversuply
Cue manufacturers slowing down production in order to get prices back up. That or a mystery "fire" or "flood" will suddenly happen and they "lose" 50% of their supply out of nowhere.
IMO, more so than RAM, I am more excited to see SSD prices fall. If 1TB or more SSDs becomes as cheap(or cheaper) as HDDs... That'd be great.

Just Monika reacted to Ravendarat in The Problem With Linus Joking at others expense
Im sorry but I just dont agree with OP at all. (Everything said from here on is not directed at the op, more just general speak) Im am flat out sick of everyone feeling like we need to handle the world with white gloves. If you say anything you can find someone in the world that will be offended by it (someone will probably be offended by the term "white gloves"). If someone is speaking to you directly and says something you find offensive then fine, address it. But when someone is having a conversation that doesn't directly involve you (being a viewer is not being directly involved in the convo) then stop being a child and grow up. Friendly banter between two individuals is exactly that, between those two. If you observe that and it "offends" you then stop listening, thats it. That should be your only course of action. Crying that you are offended and want people to change just to suit you and your fragile feelings and ego is ridiculous. Grow up or piss off!

Just Monika got a reaction from kpluck in What Do You Consider Used?
If I were a cautious buyer, then these would be my definitions:
New = Unopened
Open Box = Opened but never installed and powered on
Used = Installed and powered on
If there is an exceptional case, like it was only powered on for a few hours, make it abundantly clear so the customer knows just how "used" it was. If it was used for only a couple of minutes or hours, it would be more desirable than something that has been used for several months. Trying to pass it off as new would only make yourself look untrustworthy and trying to pull a trick on the buyer. Better to be straightforward with the details to help establish yourself as trustworthy.
