This is a more technical explanation, but I'll still try to dumb it down. In modern operating systems, each application (process) is run within a sandbox  of sorts. Each app is given its own memory, and cannot interact with another app's own memory. Only the operating system (kernel) has access to everything. The cpu itself makes sure that this doesn't happen.
What happens here is that the hardware responsible for managing memory is not functioning properly, and some applications can have access to memory that they shouldn't be able to access.

According to this, the 390 and 390x will probably be running this better than a 980 ti and the conclusion you came to is that this is a blow to AMD and more specifically Fury owners? This is a blow to EVERYONE. There's no reason a 970 should not be running this underwhelming looking game at 1440p - 1600p if not 4k. No one on PC should be buying this unoptimized garbage. Do you have withdrawal symptoms or something when you don't bash AMD?

There's actually a growing list of non-descriptive/privacy invasive updates out there for Windows Update, some have written batch scripts to remove them as well.

There was an article that had a list, and I bookmarked it, but I can't seem to access the article: http://www.hakspek.com/security/updates-make-windows-7-and-8-spy-on-you-like-windows-10/

I found this to be quite ridiculous. I uninstalled AVG and switched to Avira, best decision I ever made. My computer now boots a whopping 30 seconds faster.

@PatrikStar24 AVG may have once been the "king daddy" of free AV software back in the early/mid 2000's, but they've been pretty shit for a long time now.

The program is very invasive with pop-ups and notifications, and constantly bugs you to "upgrade" to one of their paid premium levels. I personally prefer Avast over AVG, but even Avast has been getting really pushy with upgrading, etc.

These days, I generally recommend MalwareBytes + Windows Defender. Or replace Windows Defender with Kaspersky or one of the other well reviewed/tested paid options. I don't have much personal experience with Avira, but have heard good things.

I would advise against using BitDefender though, since they were the victim of a severe targeted hacking attack. Of course, no security is perfect, but do I really trust a security company that got hacked with the security of my computer? Nope.

Yeah, I only tolerated it because it (whereas malwarebytes and superantispyware detected adware and trojans) detected java exploits that managed to download themselves and other adware, it even legitimately protected me on a few occasions.

Another one of the things I tolerated from AVG, I'm beating myself up over it because I didn't switch sooner.
I personally prefer to have something with a higher detection rate, due to the frequency that my family's computers get infected with adware (every 2-3 months). Even with my high security (6 security oriented browser extensions for Firefox, will link if PM'ed), adware still manages to get on every 9 months to a year.
I heard about that, it was one of the things I took into account.

I'm glad someone is finally taking up this issue, the problem with Microsoft's "Users can turn our crap off" is that turning the crap off doesn't change anything at all, it only says it's off.

I think anything regarding a user's information should be private by default, well that's kinda impossible, in 40 or so years we'll have PCs built into our body along with that comes spyware and ads and ad-blocks and malware, maybe even paralyze or killswitches.

PatrikStar24 reacted to Mahigan in [updated] The Tech Report won't receive a R9 Fury Nano for review
    Well this is interesting...

A few issues are related to this. A few notes on this, are required, for clarity...

When it came time to do the Fury-X reviews, the graphs at Tech Report showed "GTX 980 Ti" when in fact the card used was an aftermarket overclocked model. Tech Report Fury-X review, therefore, showed drastically different numbers than all of the other websites which reviewed the card.
Do I think AMD is doing the right thing? No. I think that, despite this lack of journalistic integrity on the part of Tech Report, AMD should have still sent them a card.

That being said, there is a rather large lack of journalistic integrity PC Gaming Review wide. Reviewers have become, and are nothing more, than 3rd party Public Relations agents for the large tech firms. They tend to, with the exception of a few notable examples such as David Kanter and Joel Hruska (ExtremeTech), lack the critical thinking skills required to question Public Relations and Marketing material being fed to them.

A prime example is in how the GeForce GTX 970 memory issue was not discovered by a reviewer, rather, it was discovered by a user. The current big controversy was discovered by myself. What controversy? The controversy surrounding Asynchronous Compute/Shading support on the Maxwell 2 series of GPUs from nVIDIA.

Why is it that we, the consumers, have to do all of the heavy lifting? Why do we, the consumers, have to discover these issues? Why aren't those who claim themselves to be journalists doing their jobs?

Journalists have always been the guardians of Liberty. They're tasked, and entrusted by the public, to look into various claims being made by those in positions of authority. Tech Reviewers act as the journalists of the Tech world. While I understand that most of them are looking for celebrity and fame, which relies on the acquisition of review samples on day 1, I find it rather curious that their own profit motive is placed before the needs of their viewers and readers.

I can't speak for AMD or nVIDIA... but I can speak for PC Gamers and Techies the world over... for consumers. A lot of us are getting tired of this. We're tired of throwing upwards of $1000 on hardware which doesn't function as advertised. We're tired of Tech Journalists acting as 3rd party Public Relations agents in order to retain access to the latest and greatest gadgets. A lot of us want accountability.

I'm speaking in general terms. Make of it as you will.

    Peace.

I've noticed this a lot with the 3.5GB 970 issue and now again with ACE.  You can tell they're in the pocket of nVidia and are very obviously biased.  They either don't make mention of these issues at all, or downplay them as not a big deal, not important, etc.  nVidia can do no wrong with them.  Caused me to unsubscribe from a lot of tech youtubers.

So I bought a PC from Dell more than a year ago. They said it would arrive in about a week, but it took a whole month. Then, when I first plugged it in, it didn't turn on. They made me send the computer to them to get it fixed. After another month, I got it back. Everything was fine until my warranty expired. After one week of it being expired, my pc wouldn't turn on once again. So I paid $450 USD to get it fixed.
Again, they said it would take a week, but they put the repairs on hold TWICE. It's been a month now and I still don't have it. The expected return date is next week Monday. I'll update this post and let you guys know if it does get here at that time.
One more thing, customer support sucks, especially for people who don't have a warranty. They treat you like shit, they just keep transfering you to multiple departments. The "out of warranty department" is rarely open too!
Dell? Never again. This is a warning to all of you who are thinking to buy a Dell PC.
