Sending your entire user database over the internet once a month sounds like creating a self-breach to me. Not a good idea.

With a name like that, and "Hong Kong Based" I'm not surprised in the least.

Why do people recommend shit like this? The 3600x is a 6c/12t CPU. It shouldn't reach 95C on a stock cooler, never mind a 240mm AIO. The constant advice of "if it's not max temp it's not a problem" is utterly ridiculous.

This seems flawed, because almost every new phone recommends that you use the designated, original charger for that specific phone, as not to damage battery life. Now they don't include that? How are they going to justify batteries shitting the bed within 2 years now?

Soooo, have you contacted Gigabyte about either of these issues? Or are you just going to condemn a usually reputable company because you've had two issues that you've never really tried to find a fix for.

My internet is a giant pile of ass right now, so I can't really find it. I believe it was on /r/overclocking, but I could be wrong on that. It was actually pretty nuts, just his PC being a PC then a giant flash + bang. Needless to say his OC was not stable.

Define issues? .223/5.56 is like the most common chambering in AR-15... Also just out of curiosity why are you interested in a platform purely for AP? Seems kind of pointless.

Considering he's 4C away from thermal throttle on a 6 core with a 240mm AIO I think he could do some tweaking to fix it. I've seen plenty of 3600 OCs, and this one seems on the hot side.

I never said they were bad... I said they were good. I have a 1660Ti in my laptop and it shreds 1080p 144fps in lots of games. I just said it's a cheaper, better option than a 5700xt, etc for 1080p

.50 Beowulf doesn't often come in high enough pressure loadings for it to be really painful. Of course since it's a crackhead telling you, I'm not surprised he got hurt.
Also, with every problem 1 AR in .223/5.56, there's 100 that operate perfectly fine. A lot of issues you might find in such ARs is either cheap, low quality parts, or garbage ammo.

Every now and then I see this pop up. You undeniably do not have a stable overclock if issues appear after applying it. If some elses CPU reaches 5 GHz, that also does not mean yours will be able to. That's just the game of the silicon lottery.
Failing to boot most of the time means it's unstable.

As with any troubleshooting, as a first step disable all overclocks on anything. CPU, GPU, RAM; reset it all to stock settings. Do the problems disappear? Most likely it was just an unstable overclock. Try overclocking slowly again until the issues return and then dial back one step. Do your (stress) tests to see if it passes your definition of "stable" and temperatures are acceptable and be a happy camper.

If issues persist, perhaps also try reinstalling Windows (with only the target drive attached) and/or updating the motherboard to its latest BIOS if applicable. If all else fails, contact Gigabyte or your seller, explain your issues and ask for an RMA.

    a 1TB HDD is like $40. If it lasted you 5 years. That's 66c/month.

Try unplugging the HDD and seeing if you can boot into windows. If you're still having issues it's likely an issue with your SSD as well.

If you're planning on replacing the HDD with an SSD, there should be no issues as far as compatibility. Just take the HDD out and use the power/sata slot for whichever new SSD you choose. Also if your windows SSD is good, you shouldn't require a windows reinstall.

Hasn’t been a thing since heat throttling. I’ve got a Q66something in my basement I don’t even think I could break with prime95.  I also had a plll coppermine once upon a time.  That it might have worked on, I don’t know.  If modern GPUs have heat safeguards (and I suspect they do) they would be safe from that.  There might be something else of course.  I don’t have the deets.  I’ve never run either without watching them though.
