    The 3080Ti can't drive anything at 144hz at 4k.

I'd recommend UWQHD or SUWQHD personally

Statik got a reaction from BFett in When is $100 worth it?
I mean, if it's a stationary monitor, peoples distance to their face varies, and on larger panels just the angle from your face to the outer edges/corners can sometimes have darkening on other than IPS panels.

I also completely agree with point 2. Even with popular monitors (mostly UW) I've seen people have issues with dead pixels, backlight bleed, etc on POPULAR companies, nevermind cheaper ones.

How do I cool my kitchen down while my oven is blasting...

    1. You can't. Your PC emits heat under load. Get an AC, or get read to sweat it out.

    2. No. No matter your cooling setup, you're still displacing the same amount of heat.

Unify is the best looking board on the market hands down. I love my TUF, but I'd change it for a unify in a hearbeat

After 7-1/2 months, my 12" LaRue barrel is finally here!

I mocked it up with a Midwest Industries barrel nut that I had laying around to get a good measurement for the handguard length. Once the handguard is in, it'll finally be a functional rifle! Please disregard the slightly over the top 3 chamber comp, it's a mount for the suppressor that I'm also expecting to arrive soon, well as soon as one can expect the federal government to approve a form 4 anyway, this rifle will likely never be shot unsuppressed.

If you're within the "safe temp" range (which you are) I wouldn't worry about it. Especially under load. That case looks pretty cramped so airflow might be the cause. My ROG Strix 2080S benches in the mid to his 70s, but games lower, but I have a lot more wiggle room in my O11. You could try setting a custom curve if the temps worry you.

You talk in really odd circles.

First, there is no reason to open a year old GPU. Paste won't be needing  a "refresh" at this point.

Second, those temps are normal for a high performance GPU under load.

Third, if there is a risk of voidiing warranty.... that's your call, not some forum on the internet.

    My thoughts
Your lack of "online" privacy has apparently carried over to activity you do offline. I think it's safe to say there isn't anything you do ever, that isn't tracked, collected, monitored, shared, etc. It's spiraling out of control and it's very hard to manage. I really hope Linux becomes more viable in the coming years so I can completely make the switch from Windows.

Keep in mind that going overkill for gaming just means that you don't fully utilize the potential. Especially with more workstation oriented hardware.
Theoretically buying a 32c CPU doesn't mean that you're buying a crazy OP CPU that's just more than you need. It just means you're spending insane money to not use 24 cores.

Statik reacted to Bomberh in Tempered Glass Scratches Very Easily...
I know this thread is over a year old, but I had a similar issue with the front glass of my Lian-Li 011 Dynamic XL (ROG) (Silver). I had been doing something in the case and I saw what I thought was dust on the inside of the front window. I got a clean microfibre and wiped an area and this caused small scratches to appear, I was not happy.... So I've been looking for all sorts of stuff to remove the scratches and find any information. I have even put cleaning products in my Amazon basket ready to buy!
Anyway, I was looking at plastic scratch removal and then thought that the windows in this case are tempered glass. So did a search for that and came to this website forum page.
When I built this PC over 6 months ago...I remember removing the the film from the front side of the glass front window and both sides of the side window!! I'm now thinking, no, there can't be a film on the inside of the front glass...surely not????? So I looked closely and to my surprise, there is a very faint edge around the inside of the window. Looking inside I pulled the edge and it started to peal away and then, I pulled the whole lot off......I too am embarrassed to think I hadn't seen it! Thanks for the push in the right direction.
I have attached an image of my case if anyone's interested?? The power of the internet.....

I got 2 4tb Hitachis from '08 in my build, I can hear them from the next room over. (They are 7 platter drives though...) They sound like pouring a bag of gravel on a wood floor when they're transferring data. Your drives are fine from the video you posted, it's a quieter hiss kinda sound.

So, I bought a 4TB WD Red about a month ago. I installed it, and... It's silent. Maybe it's due to using the sound isolating mounts in the HDD trey?

My old Seagate Barracuda drive is loud, though. It stopped clicking, but I still don't trust it. I'm going to replace it with three 2TB Crucial MX500 drives.
