The complete Power Delivery is different, the Matrix has way more phases.
The Matrix PCB is also waaaay wider, just look at the space between the RAM chips and the end of the pcb.
Its not even close

The asus cooler is the same as the one they put on their 780's, it's not optimised for the 290 at all.
Basically, sapphire make the best amd cards, of course this is my opinion only.

I´m optimistic that this Cooling Solution will be able to cool that card, Water Cooling is not the be all and end all, there are still Tower Cpu Coolers that can compete against AIO's.

I have to second that, the TurboDuo is cheaper but the PCS+ costs pretty much the same, at least here in Germany.

DirectX 12 here ? You seen any of DirectX 12 already ? Then bless us with your insight, otherwise, move along.

The difference is that those Engines won't last even a quarter lifetime, The Bugatti is a much more durable car. But anyways, those go fast in a straight line cars are completely irrelevant and boring. Cars like the Porsche 918 or the Mclaren P1 is where it's at, that's some interesting engineering. If it's only to go fast in a straight line I prefer top fuel dragster.

If I don't have to buy into a proprietary system, and the monitor doesn't cost 150~bugs extra for a little pcb with a chip on it that costs maybe 10$ to manufacture, then yes, it's worth the wait.

Come on guys, don't be like that.
Even the most expensive, highest quality parts have failures, if you want 100% qc than please pay loads and loads of money for your hardware.
Wait till there are convincing numbers before you judge anything, the number of consoles sold on launch day is so ridiculously high, that things like that are going to happen.
So, don't jump on the bandwagon and try to be objectiv.

Their inhouse Lawyer even announced they would fight every patenttroll who wants to take them on. He seemed to be pretty confident in winning. I think they will be fine.

Yeah, no, that's sadly not how that works. As much as people seem to want do believe that, no competition is more or less already the case for intel,
but AMD going down would be Dreamworld for Nvidia. These laws you are talking about prevent guys like Intel from buying out AMD and be the sole source for cpus.
AMD going down themselves would give them the monopoly without breaking any laws. AMD is fighting tooth and nails to stay alive. They made some very clever move the last 1-2 quarters.
Please stop dreaming about how Nvidia is so incredibly way ahead of AMD and just holds itself back to keep the competition alive, that's just not how economics work.
